"See guys! Jax is evil because xyz misogyny" as much as I think it was absolutely intentional to make misogyny a FACET of his character, you have to wonder why the show repeatedly chooses to center his feelings and sideline the other characters if they're TRYING to write an evil violent misogynist. I don't think the goal was to make him nearly as bad as some of the interpretations I've seen (as in, like, racist? sexually abusive? what?), but gooseworx's insensitivity and general fumbling of the writing does have some unintended implications if you think too hard.

Clearly, you're not SUPPOSED to think too hard. That's my takeaway from the movie lol. Don't think too hard or you're just torturing yourself for no reason -> the movie doesn't answer any of the interesting lore questions, and they don't expand on any of the circus characters in a meaningful way. If you're trying super hard to dissect it to prove that your dislike for one character or another is justified, you're just wasting your time.

The choices made (especially regarding Jax) obviously reflect gooseworx's biases, but I don't think you should fully allow them to guide your interpretation of his character especially when a lot of it is for jokes and she's fully, publicly admitted that she finds offensive humor to be funny.
