CEO of sayid jarrah

sayid is an early riser while shannon sleeps in. hell, she could sleep all day if she wanted to. and when she has to get up early she's so grumpy she lives off iced coffee and cigarettes. she's a night owl and so is sayid somehow. he sleeps because he has to. he prefers being awake and alert. anything to avoid a nightmare or that sinking feeling just as he's falling asleep.

neither of them are great with words when it comes to expressing love and affection. if we were to dumb this down to one of the five love languages, sayid's would be acts of service and physical touch and shannon's would be quality time and receiving gifts.

on the island, shannon doesn't realise she has a knack for picking up languages until she finds herself repeating a couple words of Arabic – she thinks it's romantic that nobody else can understand them.

sayid calls shannon, "my love," or in Arabic, "habibti" and shannon is pretty casual, she just calls him, "babe/baby," and she tried to use "habibi" once to impress him and it somehow wormed its way into her natural vocabulary.

shannon is a one tree hill and the OC fan for sure. She would also love it's always sunny in philadelphia.... pure vibes for this one. I just think it's her kind of humour, dry, sarcastic and mean. sayid laughs at it too sometimes. they have a similar sense of humour.

they love to gossip. well, shannon loves to gossip and sayid loves to listen. they're both experts at watching people and studying their behaviour... which means they know a lot of what's going on between the other survivors. unfortunately two people who do not like themselves very much are bound to end up whispering and judging other people. but they're nice enough to keep it between them. they're not assholes.

after escaping the island they would move to New York so shannon could try for the dance internship again.... this time she'd not only have the oceanic settlement money to support her 16 hour a day unpaid shifts but sayid who would pick up a job as a chef again.

they're spend a lot of nights at the ballet and the opera and the theatre, dining at fancy restaurants and upscale bars. shannon loves an excuse to dress up but she's also known to frequent the nightclubs with her friends after practice.

shannon's fav movie is legally blonde. she introduces sayid to really really bad american comedies and he likes them a little too much so she makes him go back to watching boring old critically acclaimed Oscar winners and she keeps telling him he "looks like Kip from the English Patient if he was from the middle east..." he tells her that's ridiculous.

They both smoke. Shannon more regularly (it's a ballerina thing) but she's always saying she's gonna stop. Sayid only does it on breaks at work (it's a chef thing). they both actively try and quit every few months but it never lasts. plus they probably both think it's kind of hot. they stand on the curb outside fancy restaurants and share a cigarette while they flirt and wait for a taxi.

every argument is just a passive-aggressive off. a lot of eye rolls. sometimes a voice gets raised. it's usually shannon who gets a little dramatic with it.

they're cat people, sorry Vincent! I don't think Sayid gaf about that dog and I like the idea of Shannon taking responsibility for him on the island despite not liking dogs all that much or being very inexperienced. Makes it so much sweeter and I can see that in how Maggie plays those scenes a little. They both seem more like cat people to me. they definitely take in a stray kitten or two at some point.

I think Shannon is surprisingly cultured and well-versed in the world. She doesn't just "barely" speak French, but also some other languages, too. She's probably travelled around Europe a lot, and spent more time abroad than back in L.A since her dad died. Sayid is the same, landlocked through Europe and Asia, so we know he travelled a lot and he'd been to Australia, the same as Shannon. I think their experiences in Europe bond them and their different cultural experiences. I also think they both hated France (for different reasons) and they complain about it all the time.

photographer!sayid and model!shannon....... but they swap sometimes because shannon loves taking photos but sayid hates having his photo taken. she always has to snap candid pictures of him when he's not looking otherwise he won't smile for the camera.

after reading that Maggie used to be "really into Jane Austen like most kids were into Star Trek" I think Shannon loves classic lit (but mostly romance and stuff written by women) like she loves some jane austen too and the bronte sisters. she doesn't really care for sci/fi and thinks it's stupid. she really enjoyed carrie for some reason. she's definitely a pride and prejudice lover.

having been an au pair and a dance instructor, Shannon is really good with kids... but they don't always like her and she doesn't always like them. It's a practical skill, not a personal one. Sayid is the opposite. He's never had that experience with children so the thought of changing a diaper or even comforting a child is uncomfortable for him.... but for some reason kids really like him. he doesn't understand why.
