“no. i ..” scott cringed, “sorry didn’t mean it like that.” although she wasn’t so far off. he wasn’t into cheating, but he’d done it. but savannah needn’t know all that. “high five.”

tabi grinned wickedly. “alright, it’s your funeral.” she ordered a round of shots and held one up to savannah. “down it, princess.”

scott laughed. “who said anything about getting them out though?” scott raised an eyebrow, a sly smile on his face. he didn’t linger on it though. “sounds good to me. we’re quite the team, savannah austen. i look forward to more collaborations with you.”

“in my defence most people don’t just up and give a stranger a blowjob cause they said so.” he said chuckling. “but i guess i won’t be so quick to judge anymore.”

“well, mass text it is.  i mean, we make sure we say it’s a single’s only party and well, if someone who isn’t single shows up, i know for sure that i am not going to be the one snitching on anybody.” he doubted that would happen. wintergreen was far too small for that. almost everyone knew everyone else, and in that case, they knew about their relationships too. “we’ll see what happens. i’ll let you know the kind of feedback i get? i’ll text you?”

hailey pulled the other through the crowd once their hands were linked, snagging a bottle of tequila from the bar as they passed and disappearing up some stairs and down a hallway. she’d explored earlier and knew there were some rooms not easy to find back here. eventually the pair found themselves in a bedroom with a small balcony attached that viewed the mountain. “well, what do you think about my hiding spot?” asked the blonde, a playful smile on her face as she dropped savannah’s hand and turned to face her.

for a moment after they were done he just looked at her. he was still kind of shocked she’d followed through. “i stand by that motto, it’s a win-win for me.” he said with a smirk.

“alright, what’s your poison?” she asked as they got to the bar. “and what are you doing the rest of the night?”

ellie chewed her lip. “okay okay! fine, you win. i’m cool.” she held up her fingers and put air quotes around the word cool. 

“oh you just wait and see savannah,” he grinned. “i’m really the best package deal out there.” he enjoyed this friendly banter, mainly because she was giving it back as quick and as easy as he gave it to her. “oh really? well then maybe you ought to tell them and i’ll give them a reference telling them what a great daughter they’ve raised.”

hailey’s eyes lit up with interest, she hadn’t expected to find such amazing company for the night, but she wasn’t complaining about it in the slightest. “of course, tradition is tradition, after all.” she replied, reaching down to gently grab savannah’s hand so she could lead the other to her room.

“well thank you, ma’am.” she replied easily, praise was a weird place for her, but savannah didn’t make her uncomfortable with it. maybe only her mom did. “i mean, i drag them off to my room for private fun.” she responded easily.

“i hate being a diva, i really do, but i also live for the attention i get when i skate.” she admitted to the other, trying not to sound like a brat, and worried she had anyway. “oh? and what do you have in mind?”

“Really? Hell, I wouldn’t want to think what your parents would’ve done with me as a child. Probably drop me off a fire station or some shit, honestly.” She shook her head and grinned at the thought, taking pleasure in her various antics that she’s gotten involved in, most of which were due to the industry she was in. “Oh, how could I ever forget the girls?” Winking, she burst into a giggle. “Exactly. It kind of feels like some shit out of a storybook or something like that, you?” Taking a sip from her drink, she added, “meanwhile, I have yet to lock down a proper fuck buddy here, which is the true tragedy of my life so far.”

Sage sighed, and although her shoulders sagged, Sage couldn’t help but feel some reassurance at Savannah’s touch. Enough comfort, at least, to pull a smile back on her face and readjust the trays on her arms. “Guess everyone is kinda done with holiday cheer? Or… maybe it’s just a bad day,” she sighed, trying to give the customers the benefit of the doubt. “Thanks,” Sage said, “for just letting me, I don’t know, rant.”

“i mean, i do get that way when i’m skating.” she agreed with a laugh, she got to be a bit of a diva when she was performing, but she never said anything about it. no need to feed into the view her mother wanted of her. “oh? well i can’t imagine myself complaining about that at all.”

“hey now, let me know if you ever need a reference, i can be a stellar one,” he chuckled at her before shrugging. “what can i say–i’m easily either impressed or not, and given how friendly you are–you clearly made the right side of that spectrum.”
