I love Interview With the Vampire season because I wake up and the first thing I see is Eric Bogosian biting Assad Zaman unprompted and Assad asking him to continue WHILE he was doing some press from the show. This is the only tv series ever.

Fun fact when I first watched season 1 of IWTV I was trying to avoid spoilers so I knew nothing about Devils Minion or anything but due to Danielās suspicion of Armandās Rashid mask alone I started calling Armand Danielās ācontroversially young boyfriendā.
Itās no secret that, historically, Armand and Daniel (and their relationship by extension) have been extremely dear to the fandom. Rotem Rusak is clearly one of the people to whom they mean a lot, just as theyāve meant a lot to me and so many of the folks following this blog. More power to her for focusing her review on them since Nerdist has permitted her that narrow of a scope (or, rather, more power to her for making that decision as Editor-in-Chief; I donāt know if any other editorial staff had collaborative say in the decision otherwise) šÆ
Will Armand not having an eye be a permanent thing going forward or will it heal? I know that there is another character who doesnāt have eyes and they donāt heal but I donāt know if the circumstances are different.ļæ¼ļæ¼
Allow me to reiterate this: Armand is shown wearing an eye patch at the auction, but we do not know if, beneath it, the eye is missing or merely damaged. In the show universe, as in the booksā universe, vampiresā missing body parts and limbs donāt seem to grow back (see as evidence: Antoinetteās missing finger doesnāt regenerate). So, Iām going to hypothesize within the bounds of known logic here and say: if Armandās eye is missing, then it probably will not grow back. Further important additions, however: if it has been destroyed, then there is no chance of it being returned to him; but if someone still has it, then it might yet be be returned to him (if that happens, then heād be able to re-insert it and have it heal; see: what happens with Lestatās temporarily pulled-out eye in the novel Memnoch the Devil).
I was trying to lighten the mood about Gabi getting her wig snatched. Thanks for your response. It just bothered me the level of damage Louis and Armand are taking (possibly permanently) compared (Iām assuming because nobody has mentioned it) to non POC main characters making it through the season with all their body parts intact. I just found (and still find it) a very weird and disappointing writing choice that feels out of touch to me and especially with everything else Louis seems to have going on, his case is veering on torture porn to me so far but I understand if others donāt see it that way and Iām trying my best to trust the writers and their process.

You know, it occurred to me only after I answered that you were cracking a joke there. No need to apologize! You wouldnāt believe the number of genuinely-upset-about-Gabrielleās-hair asks Iāve seen, though, to the point that I just kind of thought, eh, I might as well finally admit that I legit have zero feelings about the hair š Itās the least fascinating thing about her, to the point I barely pay attention to it when sheās onscreen.
See, the weird thing is, because Armand and Louis are physically present at the auction, but Daniel and Lestat are not? We donāt know yet if the two white protags have comparable damage out the other side of whatever happens in Episode 7. Thatās part of why Iām reserving judgment, too. If it turns out weāre shown that many of the white characters in play end up maimed, too, then Iāll feel like the writers are being more even-handed. Raglan, now, if you wanna talk about a bastard who seems unfairly unscathed? He is there at the auction and appears to be unscathed, unless he has scars hidden anywhere on his body. But heās not visibly missing eyes or limbs š

In the auction scene at the beginning of Episode 1, Armand is indeed shown wearing an eye patch. I can only assume we donāt learn why heās wearing it until Episode 7. I wonāt comment further than that, because I genuinely donāt know whether the patch indicates a total loss of the eye or just injury/damage to it. I will say that itās the same side on which my spouse is missing an eye, though (lost the eye due to a childhood illness, wears a prosthetic one). Spooky coincidence. I always tend to notice things like that around eyes implied to be missing: is it the same side on which my spouse is missing theirs?
Just thinking about how we have not seen Armand laugh yet, not really, just chuckle or smile... Just thinking about how watching him laugh is the moment that Daniel falls in love with him in the books, and how he gets so flustered that he tries to get drunk as fast as possible.... Just thinking about that....
