Here it goes, my first product review ever. Since this is my first time, I cannot guarantee that I would be able to tackle or answer all the questions in your mind about this product (but I’ll try my best for this to be complete and concise), so if you have any questions feel free to send a message or a comment on this blog.
SKIN HISTORY (for baseline purposes)
I only just begun getting myself into skincare. As I mature, my skin also matures and it changed over time. Before, I didn’t really have any problems with pimples, big pores, redness or anything of that sort. Maybe a little bit of oiliness but not to the point that it is uncontrollable.
I began noticing the change on my skin when I reached the ripe age of 31, LOL! My skin became sensitive and really dry. I usually have a pimple every now and then on my cheeks and chin area. It’s not too crazy but a pimple or two usually pops out but those are like really big pimples that can get infected and have a pus inside (eeeeew! I know). They take too long to heal and leave me with dark spots and blemishes on my face.
First let me say… that I don’t have “before and after pics” to show you (I know… I know..). I restarted this blog midway of using this product, so this will not be an honest review anymore if I use photos of my skin while using this product as a “before picture.” You will just have to take the word of stranger (which is ME) for it. But I can guarantee you that everything I put in this post is honest and true.
PRODUCT NAME: Broccoli Clearing Toner
This product is included in the Innisfree Super Food Collection in Broccoli variant. They have other variants such as Red beet and Kale which specifically targets other skin problems.
Broccoli and natural-origin-salicylic acid helps soothe stressed skin as reducing sebum and blackheads.
Broccoli helps in soothing & enhancing skin barrier via enriched vitamin and mineral.
Powerful sebum and blackheads removal effect with BHA.
Great sebum control that does not cause any dry skin problem.
PACKAGING: Simple, transparent and plastic bottle that contains 130 ml of the product.
SCENT: Green juice scent.
DOSAGE: I use this twice a day after washing my face in the morning and at night.
DURATION OF USAGE : July 21, 2016 – present
After using it for almost 2 months now, I noticed that my skin became clear. I still get a pimple every now and then but I don’t think this is because of the product (PMS). It does not claim to have acne control either, so I don’t think it will help with that. But… a huge BUT, it helped in clearing my blemishes and pimple marks. They seem to lighten significantly and as of the moment they are barely noticeable.
This is also good with sebum control. Although my skin is not super oily, I noticed that my face doesn’t easily oil up compared before. PLUS… this doesn’t dry and irritate my super dry and sensitive skin. This toner is mild and non-irritating.
I had to check again in the mirror for my blackheads and guess what? They are still there but it seems that they definitely lessened especially the ones that I have on my nose. I don’t use nose strips by the way because I don’t have one. I also don’t get facials because I cannot stand the pain.
This toner also cleanses my skin. I believe I have a good facial cleanser but this still picks up makeup residue when I swipe it lightly on my face.
CONS: A bit pricey and only available online (Althea Korea PH).
I would give this product a score of 4/5. If this is readily available in our local stores and a little bit cheaper, I would give this a perfect score just because it is true to its claims.
I would definitely repurchase this because it is hard to find a product that will work well on my skin. As of the moment, I am about to ran out of it. I haven’t ordered it yet because I am still saving to buy 3 or 4 bottles of this because I like this so much!
TIP: I use cotton pad when I apply this toner because it doesn’t absorb much product compared to cotton balls. I also apply this but gently swiping it all over my face and neck. Then I let my skin absorb this product’s goodness.
