I do want Malakai and Amerie to be given more than a chance in season 2 because they both DO deserve better. I swear if Darren hadn’t encouraged Amerie to forget about Malakai at the party they would’ve been something but alsoo him taking the time with Missy’s brother I felt was exactly what he needed at the time. Amerie was able to grow on her own and in a way fulfil that old dream of being with Dusty and inadvertently realise she deserves better because “you are the company you keep” and if Spider is awful then, he’s horrendous.

He was probably hanging back there because of other reasons like he was talking to someone in the background BUT I like to headcanon that he was taking his time at the back and lingering a bit because of Musa.

I GUESS SPOILERS FOR SEASON 5

Hector aka Miguel’s dad returns : Opens a door for Johnny and Carmen’s relationship to develop when it’s her past lover that reenters her life. Johnny’s past already made an appearance now it’s Carmen’s turn. Maybe he appears to be a nice guy/ a changed man now that he knows he has a son. Maybe miguel is still vulnerable and in denial enough to buy into his bullshit even for a little while. Maybe he will use miguel in his “businesses” once he sees what an asset he could be based on his fighting or smthg. All in all i want to see this dangerous man in action like don’t tell me he is, show me. Like him telling miguel about what happened in Ecuador and running from the FBI feels like a tease and it’d be a waste to leave him in the dust.

Step away from the plot for a sec and focus on the characters’ growths: i feel like this season too many things were happening like they’re setting up for the big match and neglecting what could be important character arcs and journey. Like Tory this season, yes we see her struggle in Cobra Kai but I want to see her battling this and coming out on top. See her contemplating returning the trophy, wanting to tell robby, seeing how Devon is getting poisoned by Silver and Sensei Kim; things like that. Same goes for all of them especially the teens like the adults i feel they’ve mostly sorted things out this season. Namely Daniel. Oh and seeing Johnny settle into becoming a dad. A good better one, i want to see that development.

Robby and Miguel being awkward brothers: it’s still weird to me how they can just let go of 4 seasons worth of bitter rivalry and miscommunication like with a snap of a finger. Maybe despite their shared interests in girls, they have different interests and hobbies and basically just them having the chance to have a heart to heart where they actually talk it out yknow. Maybe robby can confess how he felt jealous of miguel’s relationship with johnny and maybe even confessing how he’s scared he might feel the same towards the new baby or that johnny would let them down again. Maybe (most likely) miguel would also confess his jealousy of robby having a present father and confessing what happened in mexico with his dad. Then they’ll comfort each other and be like they have each other’s backs and all. We saw protective miguel maybe we’ll get protective robby too.

Look i love miguel like he’s my ride or die but do people (especially the sam haters) not realize that the scene where they broke up and miguel walking away in tears AND the scene where sam saw him kiss someone else and walking away crying are direct parallels?

Like Miguel had brought the necklace which symbolises hope. Hope that they could mend their relationship and everything can get better but, when he heard that she wasn’t okay; he realised what she needed wasn’t him and he didn’t push for the relationship by giving her the necklace and all that. He said “I understand and I want what’s best for you. Always” and agreed to be friends. When he left her house he was probably thinking how if he hadn’t left to mexico and heeded his mom’s warnings about his dad, they wouldn’t be where they are now. He then dropped the necklace, as if he is letting go hope that they could ever be again because although he wanted her to be happy he didn’t want to break up and the necklace would only give him heartache if he held on to it.

Now sam, she found the necklace before her tournament and I think she quickly realised who it was from and who it was for. During the tournament when she felt anxious and insecure about her fight especially with a partial ref, miguel was the first to assure her that she’s the better fighter and tell her that no matter what, she’ll always have them in her corner. She never stopped liking miguel but because she connected him with karate and she needed to leave karate in the past, she felt she needed to do same with him. She thought she needed to face her demons and insecurities alone but what the tournament proved was that she didn’t need to be alone all the time and that it’s okay to let people (aka. miguel) in. So she goes to the party with the necklace hoping they could mend their relationship or even start anew. But, when she saw him kiss someone else she realised he didn’t want or need her anymore. He’s moved on and left her behind while she was too wrapped up in her problems. When she left crying, she was mourning their relationship and maybe blaming herself thinking if she hadn’t asked for the break up they could’ve figured things out and maybe he could’ve helped her find the person she wants and needs to be. I think she was more upset at herself than she was at miguel.
