Hello My Cinematic Adventurers,
I have left for some time due to a mixture of some personal things, cramped time schedules, and lack of access to internet. I am well (for those who are concerned) and I might be making a slow comeback. Thank you for hanging around.

I can’t be entirely sure of this, but I feel like I am responsible for sending a small wave of Orange Is the New Black fans to Star Trek Voyager because most of my responses to this post are “OMG Red was in Star Trek!” lol Â
proofreading my own writing like wow.  u sure do love those commas, buddy.  what if u tried to cool it with all those commas, pal.  all those run-ons, friend.  why don’t you tone it down, my guy
BB-8 being a little shit
I love this so much. BB-8 is real he’s not just CGI, he’s an actual functioning robot. There’s just something magical in knowing this beloved droid is an actual thing that exist in our world.Â

I really, really like this. It shows that great filmmakers have respect for others in their field. Enough to acknowledge when another film beats a record their own movie set.
#honestly what im getting from this is #james cameron is a dink who didnt give anybody a neat card

The X-Files Prequel Novels Are in the Works
I really don’t see how this can be a thing. They met in episode one for the first time, so unless they end it with “AND THEY WERE MIND WIPED AND FORGOT EVERYTHING” I don’t see how this is going to flow well.

#99 “TOY STORY” 1995
Director: John Lassiter Staring: Tim Allen, Tom Hanks Run Time: 1hr 21min First Time Viewing?: No
“To infinity and beyond!”
A childhood nostalgic hit to the bone, Toy Story warms anyone’s heart. With multiple subtexts and a timeless story, this film will always be a favorite of mine from childhood.
{Side Note} It’s been awhile since I have watched this, and I tell you the animation definitely feels dated. Granted this is the film that started the computer animated film genre, but I noticed a lot of animation wobble, the start/stop animation plays were noticeable, some times the animation would be slowed down in order to let the other character play out. None of this takes away the magic and wonder of this film, it just stands as a marker for where we were in film technology and how far we have come in just 21 years.
Season 10, Episode 5 - When an art gallery that's showing potentially offensive artwork is bombed, Mulder and Scully seek some way to communicate with the comatose bomber in order to prevent a future attack.
Well, I was bound to dislike ONE of these episodes. This didn’t feel like an X Files episode, it felt like a “Look, a younger Mulder and Skully-like team, would you like to have an X files with THEMMM???” sigh.
This episode’s position on Muslims was wishy-washy as well. They give us a Muslim man and then gives him pathos for us to feel for the character, starting off like “Muslims are just misunderstood,” then they decide to make him a suicide bomber. Later they poor more sympathy on it trying to spin another “misunderstood” message on it then end the episode {SPOILERS} by saving the day from them Muslims.
This writing felt sloppy, like there was a message that was attempted to be made, but stayed up in the air. BTW, {MORE SPOILERS BUT NOT REALLY} There is a half-assed Lone Gunman cameo in this episode, if you’re not looking for it you will miss it. 2 out of the 3 tho, idk why Byers wasn’t there, but yay they’re here I guess. One more episode left and I really feel like this episode squandered time. Shame

#100 “Ben-Hur” 1959
Director: William Wyler Starring: Charleston Heston Run Time: 3 hr 42 min (wow) First Time Viewing?: Yes
“How do you fight an idea, especially a new idea?”Â
Not at all what I expected from my original inflection of the film. Run time at nearly 4 hours and I didn’t “feel” a minute of it. Excellent pacing, wonderful story, if you have an afternoon free and want to settle down for a long story, I would highly suggest this film.Â
{Side Note} To my surprise, Ben-Hur is getting a remake set to come out later this year in August. Not necessarily a film that begged to be remade, but I would be defending a film that is itself a remake of Ben-Hur that came out in 1925. Who knows, it might up being good, it might also be another film to throw into the pile of remakes that seem to be pouring our of Hollywood.
My “Space Mom’s” post may be the first post I have made that could breach 1000 notes. So far my favorite responses to it people freaking out because “Red was on Star Trek!!” lmaoo.Â
