Sorry I’ve been so inactive on this blog. Been too busy actually studying and didn’t have time to really get the hang of this studyblr thing. Lol. At least i have time now! Here’s my cognitive neuroscience study sesh at the library from January

‘I have come from the City. I bring you a welcome gift with a sharp point that you may remember me. I ask, if fortune allowed, that I might be able (to give) as generously as the way is long (and) as my purse is empty.’ In other words: the stylus is a gift to remind the recipient of its sender; the sender acknowledges that it is a cheap gift and wishes that they could have given more. Its tongue-in-cheek sentiment is reminiscent of the kinds of novelty souvenirs we still give today. It is the Roman equivalent of ‘I went to Rome and all I got you was this pen’, providing a touching personal insight into the humour of someone who lived nearly 2000 years ago.

studying at the boston public library and it’s absolutely stunning

it’s almost been a whole month of quarantine and online classes. i try to keep the boredom and anxiety at bay by taking up new hobbies, journaling, reading, working out, cooking. i have no idea how this situation is going to last for six more months. stay safe everyone ❤

A cozy, freshly-made bed and a brand new to-do list. It’s almost noon, but I’m hoping for the best today! Alright, let’s go be productive and cross tasks off, slowly but surely. One step at a time!

21.3.2020 update // my courses are going well, however our japanese teacher cannot figure out how to hold an exam for us so getting actual grades will be difficult. my anthropology course, however, is going quite well and we have written assignments each week (apparently it will be held further into june than previously thought) :] also the ‘anthropology of body/embodiment’ book is really interesting so far i’ve read about subverting capitalism via arts and crafts and an autoethnography of a gay man reflecting on his identity and the community in the 70s i.a.
