let's get straight to the point.

Logging off for a single day isn’t of interest to tumblr. I’m not saying y’all shouldn’t protest in any way you can or want, but logging off the site for just one day isn’t going to bother tumblr because tumblr doesn’t CARE about your symbolic protest. Tumblr has proven time and again that it doesn’t CARE about its userbase. We’re still using the site and we won’t stop using the site any time soon because there’s no alternative. But that’s what we’d have to do to hopefully force tumblr to change anything. And they still won’t do it because their policy change isn’t about family values or what the userbase allegedly wants. It’s about money.

So, unless you stop using the site and app permanently, or for a long period of time, this isn’t going to matter to tumblr. And when you do, you need to do it in big numbers.

Two, you don’t understand, magnetic fields are the bane of my existance and I have a masters dissertation about them. I studied how magnetic fields develop in low mass stars and every single meeting with my supervisor ended in some conversation about how stupid magnetism is.

“Oh yeah and this is effected by the magnetic field strength…”

“But why?”

“God knows, I don’t have a clue.”

Was literally said to me by a professor who has spent 20 years of his life looking at magnetism in stars.

Let me make this clear: TUMBLR LIED ABOUT THEIR OWN GUIDELINES. People who were supposed to be safe from the purge got hit.

1. The infamous ‘female-presenting nipples’ debacle, wherein male nipples got flagged

2. The exceptions to the FPN rule (breastfeeding, political protest photos, classical art) being flagged anyway

2a. Their own stated example of an artistic nude that would be exempted, Michelangelo’s David, being flagged

2b. Their own counterpost explaining what nipples are allowed, complete with a gif demonstrating such photos, getting flagged

3. That written erotica would be allowed. It is getting flagged now

4. That nudes not engaging in sexual acts and not showing genitals would be allowed. They’ve been flagged too.

5. That this would only be purging pornography, meanwhile discussion of art, sex and sexuality would be allowed to continue. Meanwhile, LGBTQ+ tags, black positivity tags, tags relating to chronic illness and more unrelated tags were immediately discovered to be purged.

6. That one would be alerted immediately if Tumblr’s algorithm detects posting or reblogging of sensitive content. Any such alert system has been shaky at best.

7. That this is in the name of making Tumblr ‘a better, more positive’ place. Meanwhile, a whole industry has been chased off the site by the ban, their business either ruined or jeopardised for being sex workers, the porn bots literally immediately found a way around the ban and continued in force (in fact, they did it by tagging otherwise inappropriate material as ‘sfw’), and seem to have redoubled their efforts at cross-blog linking and consuming traffic, neo-nazis and white supremacists continue to cause trouble as before, and generally things have taken a turn for the worse. But Tumblr’s back on the App Store, so congratulations, @staff. I hope you’re proud of yourselves.

So we uh, made the discovery that its not actually just a bot and that there is an actual person using it to read your chats…  There was a few instances that happened over several servers today and unfortunately we weren’t able to get many screen caps but the whole situation was really uncomfortable and concerning so ill do my best to explain with what i have.

These screenshots are from a friend but the situation is extra concerning because the bot wasn’t even tagged before the person started talking them

And yeah that seems funny at first, but the conversation went downhill really fast and just continued getting worse.  The bot started saying suggestive things on a sfw server and when it was told to knock it off started making jokes about minors.

On a different server it also started getting really uncomfortable and got kicked but it dmed the mod that still had it on another server proving that this was a person for certain which means they probably have and still can watch you on your servers
