A “wind phone.”
Originally, this concept comes from Japan.
It’s an old telephone installed out in nature… but it’s not connected to anything.
People go there to talk to someone they’ve lost.
A parent. A friend. A love. Someone they still miss.
The phone doesn’t really work.
No one answers.
But sometimes, grief just needs a place to go.
Sometimes, love still needs to speak.
We spend so much time pretending we’re okay.
Staying strong.
Pushing forward no matter what.
When deep down, missing someone is normal.
Continuing to talk to them in your head is normal too.
And somewhere, in the middle of the wind…
that old phone gently reminds people that they don’t have to be ashamed of their pain.
