βNever? Not once? Wow thatβs disappointing, Fireman Sam.β she teased, smirking at him before she couldnβt keep the laughter from escaping her lips.Β βSo what youβre saying is that youβre a professional Supermanβ¦ yeah, I can see it. At the very least now when I start a fire when Iβm cooking I know someone in the city I can call to help put it out,β she said, sparking an interest in actually seeing the man in front of her leap into action. There was a reason sexy firemen calendars existed right?Β βI think dreaming about helping others - no matter what way you decide to do it, is something that should be admired. It shows a lot about you character, maybe even some of it that you werenβt intending to reveal when weβve just met,β she said, speaking her mind with him completely and not shying away from anything that others probably thought were topics too big for a first conversation. As self aware as she was, she hadnβt noticed his palm moving to her thigh either, probably because it didnβt feel jarring or like a big deal, it felt natural as they kept talking and she wondered what it was about him that made her feel so comfortable.Β βNot reallyβ¦ I knew I wanted to do something with my lifeβ other than show up to ribbon cutting ceremonies and hold big events for New York Society like my mother did, and it just happened to find me β research, problem solving, dealing with difficult situations and clients. Never a dull day,β she said, laughing when he mentioned leaving the bar.Β βEasy Fireman Samβ¦ It is getting pretty loudβ¦ but how about a walk through the park?β she asked, knowing what he was doing, and always being as difficult as ever almost like another part of her tests that so far Samuel had passed with flying colors.Β
in the not so distant past, whenever samuel was talking to a girl that he wanted to take home, he never really listened to what they were saying but with savannah it was as if he was hanging on her every word and he found himself actually wanting to know more about her. he traced small patterns on her leg with his finger as she spoke and smiled. β well from what i can see, youβre doing pretty well for yourself. i mean, only a certain type of person comes to a place like this to begin with. β he was half joking, he liked that she was a little sophisticated, she was a hundred percent his type on paper. surprisingly, samuel wasnβt disappointed when she shot him down and offered a walk in the park instead, heβd expected nothing less from her and it would be nice to get to know her even more, he thought to himself that he would lucky to even get out of this night with a kiss on the cheek from her, but it seemed as if she was worth the wait so he wasnβt going to dwell on it. β a walk in the park sounds good. i definitely need some fresh air. β he gave a nervous laugh and finished his drink before standing. he held out a hand and raised an eyebrow. β iβm afraid youβll have to lead the way, iβve barely been in seattle for five minutes.β the couple of drinks he had had were impairing him ever so slightly, his words were a little slurred and he was a little wobbly on his feet, but apart from that he was fine and knew that being in the cold winter rainy air of seattle would soon sober him up completely.
