DANISH FLAG CELEBRATES 800 YEARS! The Danish flag called "Dannebrog" celebrates 800 years as the national flag today 15 June 2019. This is celebrated all over the country as well as in Copenhagen with a large event that starts in the cathedral "Church of Our Lady". Flag processions will take place from the Church as well as from Rosenborg Castle through the famous Shopping Street “Strøget” with various celebrations and speeches. The Danish Royal Family will participate in the festivities. The people of Denmark proudly claim that they are the oldest Kingdom of the World and even claim they fly the oldest national flag of the world.
