So I’ve been apartment hunting and wanted a little bit of extra luck …

Lots of things! You could try spirit communication (carefully, of course). Any magick you perform related to spirits or ancestors will be more powerful on this night. 

Considering Samhain’s full moon is also a blue moon, these are some things you might consider doing.

Visit gravesites. Light a bonfire with herbs. Costume party. Feast. Write a list of things you want to let go of and burn it. 

Many witches incorporate physically cleaning their space as part of how they cleanse the energy of their space, but most tips out there involve sweeping or adding ingredients to mop water or to surface cleansers. But I have carpets! (and simply vacuuming just didn’t feel like enough).

So, my ingredients are for cleansing, healing, and peace: 

Rose 

Lavender 

Rosemary 

Pink Salt 

Bay Leaf 

Chamomile 

Eucalyptus 

Cinnamon

Fine Salt 

I ground that up in my food processor, but a mortar and pestle works really well too! I just had too much shoulder pain to mess with that lol 

Then I added that to baking soda and cornstarch, which help to eliminate odors and lift stains/grease/grossness. I wish I had the measurements but I just poured it in until it seemed right… 

Mixed it up really well and ended up with something like that ^ then I added oils with similar properties (here I will specify that the oils I use are herbal infused oils that I get from a small mompop Indian market, not essential oils). Just a couple drops of each, or else the powder will clump up too much: 

Lemon oil 

Peppermint oil  

Rosemary oil 

Lemongrass oil 

Lavender oil 

Eucalyptus oil

Emoji spell for protection against extreme weather, stay safe everyone!

Before she was born, I created a special altar box that consisted of her scan pictures, hand written notes on everything I wished for her ie: to always know she was loved, to be confident and kind etc, crystals to strengthen our bond, mementos from me and my partner etc etc

I also created a protection spell bottle for her and 3 hours later we were rushed into hospital because of a really traumatic labour emergency and she was born safely, exactly 8 hours after creating the protection jar.

I charge her bottles around my crystals after they've been sterilised, I have a very large piece of rose quartz that I visualise infusing her bottles with extra love.

I smoke cleansed her room thoroughly before I gave birth, to ensure her room didn't have any left over negative energy from the people who used it before her.

I trace 'sleep safe and sound' sigils on her face as she drifts to sleep.

I use a baby safe lavender scented pillow spray that has also been charged with rose quartz in her crib to protect her and ensure she has peaceful dreams.

We use lavender, vegan and cruelty free baby body wash and shampoo to promote good sleep.

I stir her porridge clockwise every morning to attract good luck and happiness.

I am in the process of transferring over some of my grimoire and book of shadows pages into a beautiful grimoire to hand down to her when she is older and if she follows my path.

I am creating new traditions and routines for each Sabbat and Esbat that she can join in with me when she is a little bit older.

I will be creating a blessing for her bedroom to banish negativity and bad dreams.

I provide her with plenty of healthy baby foods for lunch with different herbs and ingredients that correspond with the intent of the day. Of course I stir anticlockwise to banish negativity and bad moods if she's particularly grumpy or fussy, and then clockwise to promote happiness and a positive mood for the rest of the day.

I recycle all her baby food jars and use them to store herbs, potions and spells. (It's a very good budget friendly alternative to pricey glass bottles that are often far too small for my personal liking.)

And of course, I gave her a Witchy name that truly suits her beauty.

Of course I will incorporate so much more into her daily life as she gets older as my partner is super supportive despite not practising my beliefs, but these are what I can do now at least.

Mediate with them. My four year old and seven year old sisters will litterly just come and sit down with me whenever I meditate, it’s a beautiful way to teach them calming techniques while also bonding.

I make spell jars for them or their bedrooms, and I let them help me. I show them how to do it and sometimes they even make their own if they’re feeling up to it.

I let them help me collect herbs and flowers from our garden, and then i show them how to dry them out while explaining what they’re used for.

I get them to colour in or draw specific symbols or sigils. (The 7 year old particularly loves this one, it gives her a chance to show off her drawing skills.)

I encourage them to help me set up for rituals or sabbats/ celebrations. They usually love helping me decorate my chosen place.

I take them on walks a lot and get them into the habit of picking up particualr sticks or rocks they feel drawn to.

They help me make faerie gardens and give offerings to the fae, I’d suggest using bright flowers, the younger ones tend to love it.

It’s very important that if they’re watching you, explain what you’re doing. It doesn’t matter if I’m doing a spell, using my rooms or cleansing something, I always explain how, what and why. It helps them understand and it makes them interested. They always have more questions.

I do a tarot reading with them once a week, and I pull one card to sum up their upcoming week.

Take them supply shopping with you. My siblings almost always want to come when I buy crystals, incense or herbs etc. Even better if they find something they’re drawn to, get it for them, let them explore it’s meanings and the connection they have to it.

I teach them about vibrations and spirits as they’re very prone to picking things up. I explain to them that they’re not imagining it but there's no need to be scared, and if they feel scared then all they have to do is come get me or mum. I also explain to them that it’s important we respect spirits and be considerate of them.

Imbolc helps us say farewell to the hibernation of winter and usher in the bountiful months of spring. I hope that this spread can help you determine what areas of your own lives are stagnant, and how to bring them back to life!

Hmmmmm....a simple spell you can try is a white candle and bay leaf. On one side if the bay leaf write 1 word that describes the objective and intention of your wish. Light the candle. Meditate on it for a while. If you have any deities that you worship you can ask them for assistance. But if not heres a simple chant:

"May the God and Goddess of light and love, grant me my wish and quiet my heart. I place my desire in your hands, For you to do as you will and as I deserve."

Then say whatever your wish is. Be Specific!

Then burn the bay leaf using the fire of the candle and let it burn. * Preferably in a heat resistant bowl*

And for the ashes you can bury them or if its windy out you can toss them to the wind.
