In the midst of feeling something internally, Stefan’s words interrupt whatever thoughts were forming about it. There’s a nod from her with a serious face as he moves her hand holding the weapon, taking a breath trying to reconcile she might have to hurt him. Her eyes focus up on him just in time to see his fangs seemingly appear out of nowhere. When he bit his wrist, she didn’t see them at all. She’s seen the change in the eyes before with the other vampires, but not this close.

Soon the wrist that was holding his is moved and teeth sink into the flesh. A slight shiver runs through her at pain, not as much as she was expecting and… kind of liking how its making her feel. Biting her bottom lip a little, she’s carefully trying to judge how much he can have before she won’t feel so great. A minute goes by when she leans in to him. “Stefan, that’s enough.”

Human blood always had such a strong hold on him. It was unfortunately, a necessary evil. Without it, he would wither away to a state of desiccation. With it, he was sure to lose parts of his humanity. Stopping was always where Stefan had failed. It was always the catalyst that threw him into a ripper phase- something no one could afford right now. The inability to stop, the draining of an innocent life, before he got too into it and ripped them to shreds- Stefan felt himself wavering, wanting to give into the blood lust, her words nearly fell onto deaf ears.

A mental note is made about feeding from anywhere blood flows, which is quite a few places on the body. As he suddenly stands, her eyes watch him as she’s unsure what he’s thinking or planning. Seeing him pull out a stake from the cabinet, not entirely expecting it but it makes sense given what she asked. Walking over to him as he holds it, she carefully takes it and feels the heft in her hand. “I hope it doesn’t come down to killing you.”

Watching as he bites his own wrist, she’s not exactly a fan of the flavor of blood given how many times she’s had her on in her mouth. But… when in Rome. “I wouldn’t be here offering if I hadn’t already considered every option.” Closing the space between them, she keeps the weapon in one hand while the other holds his wrist so she can drink some of the blood dripping from it. Its not as metallic as she would have imagined, but its not exactly delicious. She drinks however much she can before he heals, looking up to Stefan. “Do you want my wrist or…?”

     Stefan listens to her reassurance; if they weren’t in such a bind, he would of never agreed to this. It was risky, and by many counts, very stupid. Stefan had never quite gotten his control down, but it was this, or slow atrophy as his veins closed on themselves. As she drinks from him, his eyes close; it had been a long time since he’d shared his blood with someone. A moment later, his wrist has healed itself and he feels her pull away. The darker parts of his mind wishing she’d just drink her fill.

                  “i’m worried about you.”

“Listen, I am still new to all of this. Does it have to be the neck? Is there something I could use that would hurt you and not kill you if you get feral?” She can see that this offer is hurting him emotionally, maybe physically. He needs blood, but due to his issues with being a ripper he’s been unable to just do what the rest of them can. “Would drinking your blood as insurance first help? So I don’t actually die?” While she’s played with the idea of turning, she never really considered it until now. “Please, I want to help you.”

“No, I wasn’t sent here by your brother.” Given how much she knows about the people of this town and what some of them truly are, she really isn’t afraid. The fact that she stayed at all says that much. “Maybe its just me over analyzing due to my job, but I can see how the hunger is getting to you.” Thanks to the virus touching the globe there’s a shortage of blood bags, and apparently that means seeing the only vampire in town who won’t touch humans suffer.

“Between the risk of you ripping into me and you losing it and going after multiple people… I’m one of the few people who know what you are that’s human. I don’t see Matt offering, probably for good reason… So here I am, willing to trust you so that you don’t starve.”

The truth was that Stefan's hunting habits weren’t really cutting it these days. This virus had tainted most of the non-living options, and it was seeming to effect his other choices as well. The supply was dwindling. It seemed everyone knew how close Stefan was to his breaking point, even if Stefan didn’t. “If I start, I wont stop.” It wasn’t a threat- more of a warning, or promise.

     This was a frustrating place this conversation had turned. They’d spent centuries around each other and still, she wanted to claim they were strangers. What point was she trying to prove now?      “You had every opportunity to show me the real you.” Stefan almost felt like laughing- the woman who compelled him was now telling him he didn’t know who she really was. “Why didn’t you?” Stefan asks, but the question is mostly rhetorical.

     Truth be told, he wasn’t sure why she was sticking around at all. Everything was falling in place to curate the perfect disaster. Stefan wondered sometimes if he shouldn’t leave, himself. Stefan hears her approaching before she speaks; her words caught him more off guard than anything else. 

     “You’re still here..” Stefan sighed out, thinking she should be long gone by now. What did she care what happened to the rest of them? Why would she bother risking herself when she never had before? Katherine was selfish, that much Stefan was sure of. There had to be a bigger play here that he was just missing. 

                    “You want to tell me why that is?” Stefan looked up over at her, not answering her question- he couldn’t imagine that she really cared what he wanted.
