I try to keep my tumblr posts strictly about dancing, but this is important enough for me to make an exception. On February 23rd, the FCC will vote to save Net Neutrality or let Comcast and other ISPs create Internet slow lanes. Some members of Congress, on behalf of their corporate cable donors, are trying to stop the FCC from protecting the Internet we love. Hate slow internet while streaming videos on Netflix and YouTube? You can help fight against it by contacting your congressmen and women and arguing for protecting Net Neutrality, to keep an open and equal Internet!

I haven't been posting stuff for quite a while (at least a few months), and coming back to my tumblr now, I feel like I let the quality of the content go really downhill. So I'll be removing some posts that I feel aren't worth most people's time, so if you're looking for something that I've posted in the past but can't find it, I probably removed it.

I'll probably be removing a lot of the photo posts as well, for the same reason, particularly the ballet photos. There are already a lot of ballet tumblrs out there, that probably do a better job at curating content than I do. Plus dance is an art form that you really need to see in motion, in a video, so I want most of the content on my tumblr to be videos.

Salsa is sometimes described as simply "walking with style". I like to think that's true in a lot of dancing, not just salsa.

I think Sara Lopez demonstrates "stylized walking" perfectly in this Kizomba demo at 2014 Feeling Kizomba Festival in Spain. She doesn't do anything flashy, extravagant, or over-the-top, but that's exactly what makes her dancing so sexy: it's the perfect subtlety to her movement, her precise muscle control that makes her stylized walking so damn HOT!
