⋆𐙚 ̊. it doesn’t matter how you say your affirmations
starting your affirmation with “i’m going to,” “i will,” or even “i want” does not keep your desire in the future and it doesn’t mean you’re in that fuckass state of lack.
who even came up with that? i see those statements being repeated all the time as if certain affirmations are somehow more affective than other affirmations. ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁
what some of you don’t seem to get is that affirmations are literally just words. wow, shocking. the universe or whatever isn’t sitting there scanning every affirmation you say to make sure you’re doing it correctly.
“oh, what do we have here? i will shift. nope! wrong wording! they can’t say that. manifestation denied.” like, please people. stand the fuck up.
you’re doubting your words instead of trusting your intention behind the affirmation, because words don’t have any special power or meaning unless you give them a meaning. that’s why it doesn’t matter what you say or how you say it.
like, you can literally affirm “i will go home” and have the same effect as saying “i will shift.” because you know what home means in that context. it doesn’t mean home as in your house here, it means your dr because that’s the meaning you’ve given it. the words aren’t what matters, your intention is.
if i affirm “i’m going to wake up as enya dale,” my intention isn’t “i hope this happens someday in the future!” no, my intention is that i’m going to wake up in my dr once i fall asleep tonight, because i know what i mean when i say it.
same thing as the present tense “i have shifted.” the core idea is the same. you’re affirming it because your intention is to experience your dr. it’s just said in a different font.
at the end of the day, how you choose to affirm is based on your own preference and what feels right to you. but don’t go around and claim that present affirmations are the only way, because you genuinely sound stupid. “we’re limitless!” until something doesn’t align with you lol. yes, i’m lowkey irritated because this has been bothering me for a while. ˘³˘
affirming in present tense has never really clicked for me the same way future tense does, because that’s simply my preference and what makes most sense to me! i’m not going to use a different wording because user loa123 decided that present tense is the best and most affective way. and neither should you.
the universe, your subconscious, consciousness or whatever you prefer to call it, genuinely doesn’t care how you phrase your affirmation lol. it doesn’t keep it in the future, please know that.
what actually matters is that you know what you mean, because you know the intention behind your words. simple.
don’t use a certain tense just because it worked for someone else. what feels comfortable to them might not feel the same way to you. ditch anything that doesn’t feel right! you’re not affirming to please the crowd because this is not a group project lol.
your affirmations should make sense to you, not anyone else.
