i love when saiouma trust each other. it's such a simple thing but i can't help but be fascinated with the trust between saiouma, specifically on Kokichi's end.
there's just something about someone with as bad of paranoia and trust issues as Kokichi has deciding to openly trust someone. i tend to show this in my hc by utilizing the fact that people don't know fuck about him- not even the most basic small talk type info- and having him be someone who cares alot about his privacy to the point he hides the most mundane shit from people unless it's 100% necessary for them to know.
then when it comes to saiouma, i image him giving Shuichi this mundane information as a display of trust, and Shuichi in turn making an effort to not share any of it with anyone to show he can be trusted. Kokichi definitely assumed with how nosy Shuichi's friends are and how much Shuichi wants his friends to understand Kokichi, the information wouldn't be secret for long, but Shuichi's refusal to let any of it slip both surprised him and flustered him. he wasn't expecting his admittedly overboard and weirdly paranoid privacy to be taken so seriously
in turn ofc Kokichi is very serious about Shuichi's privacy too, even if Shuichi says it's okay to tell someone else about something he still refuses because it makes him feel like he's returning the favor
i just love them and their trust in one another, no matter how mundanely it's displayed it's such a big deal
