when people usually talk about fursonas for characters they usually pick what would best fit their personality or what's most frequently associated with the character- but actual fursonas are typically just what the person thinks would be neat, an animal they are truely obsessed with, the newest original species they found, something from another fandom, or something that's sentimental to them in some way (ex: if mine was based on what people associate me with he'd be a raccoon or snowleopard, but he's actually a coyote with ram horns cause he evolved from my old aj main look) i have rarely met a fellow fur who actually bases their fursona off the critera usually used to assign characters fursonas

i saw a video where this lady as tapping her horse with a pool noodle and explaining she was doing it to desensitize the horse, and now i just really need DICE doing that to Kokichi while playing the audio for him on their phone

he is not amused

anyways Beez presented me with the idea of- and i quote- "hanahaki but ur a lil hater"

what that basically means is gimmy a saiouma au where they're enemies to lovers, but intead of having a normal "oh-" moment one of them instead ends up coughing up petals and can't figure out whomst the fuck he's coughing them up about until he finally connects the dots and dread sets in

it's like- Kokichi had put all of his effort into that killing game, marred his name in the eyes of his peers, foregon his morals in persual of what he saw as a greater good, only for it all to have been meaningless, for it all to have just been some fancy virtual reality program. with all of that behind him, with nothing left to really make it nessicary for him to fight, he just kinda gives up- what's the point in keeping up his act when there's no mastermind to usurp, no imminent threat of bloodshed on the horizon to worry about? so he doesn't. he simply just stays in his recovery room and keeps to himself, letting everyone else enjoy their recovery and rekindle their bonds in peace, and letting himself stew in his own guilt as he thinks back on all he did with the crude light of hindsight

so- yaknow how Kokichi likes playing games the hard way? i had the idea of what if for this reason he was very anal about balancing when making homebrewed anything for dnd, but then i went "okay what if Shuichi was actually the one who was anal about balancing homebrews?"

so now the idea is saiouma annoying the crap out of each other while playing ttrpgs by trying to be the more correct one about homebrew balancing. it's so incredibly nerdy it hurts, but also it totally fits them, i love when saiouma are nerdy little freaks

basically the idea is take the concepts of human pack bonding and violent protective behaviors that humans are space orcs/fae/australians posts like to really ham up, apply that perspective on humans to a human Kokichi, and mix it with Shuichi being part of an anxious prey alien species to get a really fun saiouma dynamic

imagine being Shuichi in this scenario; you're part of this big interspecies crew and in the crew is this one human, he's small for a human but he makes up for it in his outlandish and attention commanding behavior, and of all the crewmembers for him to attach himself to he chooses you- and then falls for you. this imp of a guy who's a member of a predatory deathworld species known for becoming violent when their mates are threatened looked at your anxious prey ass and went "yeah i want that one"

i wanted Kokichi's scarf to be the unlabeled flag but it didn't work like i wanted it to so i stuck with gay for him, just know i actually hc him as unlabeled

imagine like- post game he's in recovery but his brain is just an absolute mess. between the depression, ptsd, phantom poison and hydraulic press pains, and self imposed isolation, his brain refuses to focus on much of anything and it feels like he's in a thick fog all the time

to him this is probably the most terrifying and frustrating thing that could have happened to him coming out of the game cause he's use to being sharp minded while sorting through nonstop thoughts, but now he's wading through the thick muds of an eerily quite bog. surely it's gotta drive him insane a little not being able to focus on anything, even if he lowkey kinda always had issues with focusing on the right things in the past he's never had it so bad he can't even focus on daydreams

i want you to take saiouma, think of whatever you would consider the most opposite location to a coffee shop could be, and then make them meet in that location.

this was brought on by a very chaotic convo about pure opposite versions of common aus, some of the answers for coffee shop that were givin by both the server and my friend group whom i also presented the question with include: steakhouse meet ugly, bar night, and the us cheese caves.

basically the rough thought i have is something caused Shuichi to go MIA while dealing with a villian, and instead of trying to find him and make sure he's alive and see if he needs backup or something they instead just announce him dead and move on so they don't have to deal with it, but then Shuichi comes back and finds out they faked his death before even such as sending out a rudimentsry search party and gets pissed about it

it was initially only one or two of them were vampires, but over time they started to turn each other- no one forcefully turned anyone obviously, but they did all get turned eventually because more and more members wanted to be vampires.

when Kokichi started DICE he never intended for it to be a vampire coven, it just ended up being like that cause all these troubled misfit kids are troubled and misfits and becoming vampires instead of trying to become well adjusted seemed like a good idea to them at the time

the fun part of this comes with trying to figure out what order your version DICE would get turned in and what made them finally decide to turn looking back at the convo i'm pulling this idea from, i had the fun thought of Kyutaro (black hair) really wanting to be turned cause becoming a vampire is a dream come true to his goth ass, but he ended up not going for it for far longer than any of them expected because he's down bad for Mittens (big sleeves) and was letting him feed on him and really didn't want that to stop because gay. Kyu ended up finally letting himself get turned after he and Mittens started dating cause he felt like crush becoming boyfriend was a fair trade off for no more feeding crush

Shuichi's definitely a weirdo in his own right, but he's like- the most subdued and grounded of the weirdos yaknow? especially compared to his peers. i do really like the idea of him kinda attracting weirdos because of this, with him being just normal enough to pass as normal outside of his typical social circles, but also just weird enough for all the serious weirdos in his vicinity to clock him immediately and flock to him like "yay my emotional support totally normal guy who is definitely not a weirdo in disguise :)"

i do think this extends outside of hpa btw- like yeah hpa is full of weirdos and it's inevitable he'll befriend a few, but he collets them outside of there too. i'm positive he has himself a small friend group that is comprised of nothing but weirdos who he gels with and were drawn to him because of his lowkey weirdo aura (hell, i have a whole hc friend group i made for him, haven't talked about them in a hot minute)
