If I had to use three words to describe the album Lover: Free, because I felt free to write whatever I wanted to, I feel like I’ve grown up enough to take space in the world. With that growing up, I felt a new sense of freedom. The second word is eclectic, because it’s very quirky, different parts of the album that are weirder that I’ve never made before. The fans are why I get to make music that’s a little different from what I’ve made before. The 3rd word would be passionate, because I think that love, whether it’s the good or bad side, whether you’re falling for someone or missing someone, that involves a lot of passion. I’m very passionate about songwriting and writing this album is the most fun I’ve ever had as a creator.

Released on the 23rd of August 2019, Lover turns 1 today. It’s the first album that Taylor owns.

Real life is a funny thing, you know. In real life, saying the right thing at the right moment is beyond crucial. So crucial, in fact, that most of us start to hesitate, for fear of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. But lately what I’ve begun to fear more that that is letting the moment pass without saying anything. I think most of us fear reaching the end of our life, and looking back, regretting the moments we didn’t speak up. When we didn’t say “I love you.” When we should’ve said “I’m Sorry.” When we didn’t stand up for ourselves or some one who needed help.
