I keep thinking about how the stuff with Kusuo and Touma's past are some of the only serious scenes in the entire show and even that in the outro of the episode prior Kusuo is like "We're doing a serious episode? Mr matsuzaki is still one of my favorite saiki k characters, genuinely only adult in saiki's life that treats him like a human (besides a few of his friends parents).

Mr matsuzaki genuinely cares so deeply for his students shown how he always sticks up for saiki and presumably the other shy kids in their school.

He wants them to succeed and he wants them to do well in their studies.

My favorite moment though is when he gets the love letter from takuhashi (I don't know if I spelt his name right) pretending to be a girl, and he waits all that time just to let the girl (albeit was saiki but his intentions didn't change because he didn't know it was saiki) down gently and to tell her their age gap is inappropriate.
