Last week was Sage’s birthday. I meant to post, but it was a hard day. She would have been 14. Our little lucky St. Patrick’s Day girl. We planted a gardenia by our front steps for her, and she sent us a beautiful bloom the next day. The human pup loves our Abby. He loves to watch her and gets an extra high-pitched lovey sound when he looks at her. We love it, however Abby is more of a shy girl, and likes her kennel and safe spaces. Sage on the other hand, was the opposite. She would always snuggle in as close as possible, and followed us around wherever we went. Last night, momma had some tears about this, thinking about how much the baby human would have loved Sage now, and how she would have wanted to be right next to him at all times. Abby must have heard us, or maybe Sage did and she let her know, and this morning she decided to get on the play mat with her baby brother to show us her Nana skills.
