sage-niao
Sage looks up and jumps, seeing the startouched elf. âSorry, I didnât see you there.â She signs slowly as she speaks, as if she hasnât used sign language in a long time.
âIâm simply seeing if there is a way to remove you from this mirror.â
He taps the glass twice to indicate to the other they couldât hear them and that if he knew the legend heâd know only a human could free him. a human who used dark magic.
@sage-niao
She nods and thinks. After a moment, she flips some scratch paper to the blank side and writes on it, trying to make it as mirrored as possible. She holds it up to the mirror, explaining what she just said.
He wrote back. âNoâ
It was short, simple and not a lie. there was no way she could release him. He then wrote a name down with a short message.Â
âLord Viren or another Dark magic user.â
She frowns before writing on the paper. âNo. Maybe I could come in and get us both out that way?â
She doesnât write her name.
âNo.âHe tapped the glass and made a circle. The rim of the mirror was tied to him and he was tied to Viren now.
âItâs a prison of my own making, I know what unlocks the gate, they made it so that no one in Xadia held the power to release me.â
She frowns in concern. âWho would put you in a prison of such a making? Why would they?â
Is this person serious, how did they actually find him as now he was suspicious because there simply was no elf alive this stupid. Everyone knew him, every elf must have passed the tales of the dark mage and his illicit dealings with the humans and how he killed dragons to fuel his power and slaughtered hundreds in pursuit of granting humans the same power that was simply given to the other races in Xadia.
âYou did.âHe wrote on the paper.Â
âOr have you forgotten the history of people of Xadia? I will not fall for such treachery.â
She frowns. âThat would mean you are Aaravos. I was not directly influencing that. Besides, if anything, if you had not created this prison, you would not be within it.â
Sage wondered what it was like, to be stuck in a prison for lifetimes. To not hear anyone other than yourself must feel rather lonely, and depressing. She would rather avoid that fate.
His smile darkened when she mentioned his name and he didnât respond. He was Aaravos, why would he lie about that, of course he knew how he could be freed, but no single elf beside himself had that power.
She tilts her head and hums in thought. âDid I upset you?â
Despite knowing of the horrors Aaravos brought to the world, she still felt bad for the trapped elf. âIs there anything I can do? Perhaps we can play a board game.â
