“That…does not sound good…” He sighed as well and stood beside him, hand on his shoulder. “Want to talk about it? Or get distracted?” He winked

Runaan couldn’t help a chuckle at his teammate’s antics, but after a moment he let the smile fade. “It isn’t necessarily bad. But she did manage to get into a fight with another trainee three ranks higher and choke him into unconsciousness while her instructors were attempting to peel her off of him. And then there’s this,” He motioned to the target. “Her skill with throwing knives is on par with full assassins, but she did this when someone mocked her previous attempts. She has an issue with hostility and anger, I’m sure. But it needs to be dealt with if she ever wants to become an assassin.”

“Huh, you’re kids good Ru. She might be better than us one day when she’s older. You’ll find a way to uh, tame her. I mean you can reel me in so she’ll be fine. Relax….” He gently squeezed his shoulders, softly trying to massage them and make him relax. “You’re the best teacher and leader, you’ll figure it out.”

Another sigh escaped runaan’s lips. “I just… Perhaps it would be better to stunt her training, at least until she can figure out a more effective way to control her anger.”

“Then you’ll face her anger and I don’t want this pretty face scarred. Although….you’d look even more daring and dashing with a couple of scars…” Castillo grinned and moved to face him, stroking his cheek

Runaan leaned into the other’s touch well enough, but still rolled his eyes. “Cas, I’m trying to be serious.” He stated as a reminder, though a smile worked its way onto his face. “And besides, a scar would absolutely ruin my complexion.”

“It might…but I think you’d look delicious with you. You need to stop being so serious when you’re off duty. Or there will be two of you, you know kids follow their parents attitudes.”

Runaan glanced over, then gave a hum. “I’ll tell you what, cas, I’ll let you try your best to draw or paint a sar or two on me, then if you think I’m pretty with it I’ll strive to get one exactly like it on the next mission.” He took longer to respond to the serious thing, before settling with “I’ve always been serious you know.”

“Scars aren’t always physical, but I still like you regardless. And you’re not a pretty boy like me. You’re deathly handsome.” He winked with a chuckle. “Listen, don’t change yourself for anyone. That’s when you’re definitely crazy you know? You gotta love who you are.”

another eye roll paired with a chuckle. “Thank you for the compliment and the advice, both of which I already know.” He flashed a smile. “And I suppose if you want me to take a break from my daily “mulling over rayla and her issues” hour, then I can spare some time.” He leaned up to pull Castillo into a short kiss then.

Smiling, Cas gripped him as much as he could, trying to prolong the kiss. “You call me a tease and then kiss like that…”

Runaan laughed quietly, then lightly tapped at Castillo’s arm as a faint ‘warning’ “The only difference between you and I in that regard is that I intend to follow through with my actions.”

The man drags Runaan out and drags him to the arena entrance. “Fight as if you are protecting your friends. For all you know, you are.”

Runaan didn’t struggle, but as he was brought to the entrance he asked “Are you going to untie me?”

He nods and unties Runaan. The entrance is opened.

Runaan looked at his now unbound hands, before asking also “hand to hand or with weapons?”

“Hand to hand. Don’t kill him, though.” The man pushes Runaan in and closed the gate. There’s a scrawny boy looking around nervously.

The young boy whimpers and cowers. “… So we’re fighting today?”

Runaan frowned, before coming closer. “I don’t want to hurt you. So just surrender and you won’t be harmed.”

He nods hesitantly and whines. “… I can’t…” The man starts approaching Runaan.

Runaan frowned further, before quietly saying “Then I’m sorry.” Before lunging at the other reluctantly and tackling him. It didn’t take much to pin the other down.

The boy struggles, but is clearly only trying to make it seem like he was trying.

Runaan didn't want to hurt the other, but still, he was doing this for Thomas and Tinker. He couldn't fail. "This will hurt." He said to the other, letting the other brace, before delivering a good punch in the exact place to knock the man out.

Runaan looked up from where he glared at the ground, trying to undo the knot his hands were tied in. He didn’t respond to mutt

Runaan began struggling the moment Thomas tried to bind his other hands but still he managed to become chained again. Still, he only glared at the mention of castration. “I am not snowball.” Was all he responded with, struggling to keep his legs closed. Luckily he could crush a watermelon between his thighs so… Good luck Thomas

“You are snowball. That is, of course, unless you’re breaking your side of the deal.” He grins slightly. “And if you’re breaking your side of the deal, I get to bring Tinker back home.”

“i said I would obey your command, but I said nothing over complying with a name change.” He shot back, still struggling. “I am not snowball, that was never part of our agreement.” A pause, before he added, very pointedly “And besides, you are breaching our deal as well. For this week, I have the ability to deny any orders that make me uncomfortable. I’m already letting you push with the bathroom thing.”

He growls and squirts Runaan’s face again. “If you don’t want to be called snowball, then stop saying you are dead. That is an order.”

Runaan hissed when the water hit his face, and he quickly moved to wipe it away with his shoulder. Still, he gave a bemused look. “Just because I don’t say it doesn’t change that I believe it.”

Runaan gave a huff, the sting still there, but swiftly responded with “Well tinker is no longer here, as per with our agreement.” 

“You abandoned him.” He scowls and stands. “It will be a long week without him…”

“I didn’t abandon him. He’ll be better off away from you.” He hissed. Still, he gave in and looked away, the sting of his own words hurting worse than a blade. “Fine, I will stop saying it. But you can’t control what I think.”

“Thank you.” He sighs in relief. “… I’m worried about him. What if he gets hurt?” The man flops into his chair.

Runaan frowned, but spoke up. “Tinker is strong, even when he’s upset. He will be okay.”

“… I hope so…” He sighs and watches Runaan. “… I’m sorry for calling you snowball.”

Runaan gave a surprised glance at Thomas, before rolling his eyes. “If you ever call me that again, I will not comply with anything else you say until you no longer use that name.” That wasn’t a deal or offer, that was Runaan straight up saying ‘don’t ever fucking do it again’

“I won’t. I prefer Runaan anyways.” He smiles softly. “Snowball seems stupid.”
