“Hmm,” she had to think about that a moment. “Somewhere outside. It’s way too stuffy in here to keep wandering around this place.” Even if the idea of secret corridors and rooms sounded like something out of some book. “Hey, do you think this place has a Room of Requirement like Hogwarts?”

Sadie furrowed her brow, looking at the other girl with confusion. “Room of Requirement? What’s that? I don’t think we had anything like that at Ilvermorny. Sounds cool, though.”

    She was familiar, someone part of his branch at the school, yet they never really spoke. Everyone was still getting their bearings, learning what was fine and what wasn’t—the hierarchy of this place. For Orion, he was lucky, he had some of his peers were accepted along with him; yet it was still different. Regardless he nodded, exhaling harshly before speaking up, “—Yeah you are telling me. The course work here made my last school feel like primary classes or something.”  

“Exactly! Ilvermorny was a walk in the damn park compared to this place.” Sadie sighed, sinking further into her armchair. “You look familiar...I can’t quite recall your name, though. I’m Sadie.” She said, extending her hand towards the boy.

“Only every minute of every day!” Dominique told her as she snapped her book shut and shoved it into her bag. Surely homework could wait a little while longer when there was exploring to do.

Sadie grinned and stuffed her books into her satchel, springing to her feet. “Where to first?” She asked the other girl.

“And yet, you’re still here.” Dominique told her raising an eyebrow as she glanced at the girl from over her Transfiguration book. “Though I wish you luck on finding that fun. It’s always eluding me these days.”

Sadie leaned in slightly. “Well, we could always try to find something fun to do,” she suggested with a raised eyebrow. “Care to go exploring?”

Dominique looked at her a moment. “Well, I reckon you’re not going to find it in the library. Quite dull in here unless you count someone telling kids to shush every ten seconds.” Certainly wasn’t her idea of a good time but otherwise she’d never get her homework done with so many distractions. “Annoying the librarian doesn’t count as entertain, surely you agree?”

Sadie rolled her eyes in frustration. “I’m just stopping in to return some books. Believe me, I’ll be out of here as soon as possible.”

louis couldn’t help but let out a little laugh at the sight of her petulant face, the sight reminding him of domi when they were children. “don’t exaggerate,” he replies, eyes crinkling in amusement, “it’s only bad if you’ve let the work pile up. i always manage to have fun in between study sessions.”

“I’ve been getting it all done on time, we just get so much of it at once.” Sadie grumbled, looking disdainfully at her stack of homework. “At my old school I always managed to go have fun with my friends, but here it’s a way bigger workload.”
