Prayer to Our Lady of Mercy
Mother of Mercy, Refuge of the Poor, Consoler of the Afflicted, and Tender Guardian of all who seek your Son. Your heart has always been moved with compassion for those who suffer in body and soul. You never turn away from the hungry, the forgotten, the brokenhearted, or those who have wandered far from the light of Christ. Through your maternal love, you lead every weary soul to the inexhaustible mercy flowing from the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
You inspire your children to become living instruments of that same mercy. Teach us to recognize Christ in the poor, the sick, the lonely, the abandoned, and the forgotten. Strengthen us to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked, shelter the homeless, comfort the sorrowful, instruct the ignorant, counsel the doubtful, forgive offenses, pray for the living and the dead, and perform every work of charity with humility, generosity, and joy.
O Mother of Mercy, form our hearts after your own, that compassion may triumph over indifference, hope over despair, and love over selfishness. May we never grow weary of serving others, but faithfully follow your example, bringing the healing presence of Christ wherever His grace is needed most.
Our Lady of Mercy, obtain for us the grace to persevere in works of mercy throughout our lives, so that, having received God's abundant compassion, we may also become merciful toward all and one day rejoice forever in His eternal Kingdom.
