1) Find an instrument, everyone knows someone who has at least a guitar you can borrow 2) Attempt to play along to your favorite songs 3) Fail 4) While failing inadvertently pick up techniques that sound good to you 5) Get pretty decent 6) Become disillusioned from an arbitrary and unfeeling universe and install Ableton or Logic Pro and start making hip-hop beats or terribly boring electronic dance music 7) Listen to all kinds of music 8. Arrive at yourself and wonder if you’re a human being
