I loved the dark gorgeousness of his mind, and the utter, quite palpable, almost hallucinatory loneliness of it.

Have no fear, you will find your way. Itâs in your bones. Itâs in your soul.

Many years passed,Â
and we could notÂ
find her among the gravestones, likeÂ
she promised her mother.
but she swam beneath the soil,
like a mermaid of the sea.
What is an adjective? Nouns name the world. Verbs activate the names. Adjectives come from somewhere else. The word adjective (epitheton in Greek) is itself an adjective meaning âplaced on top,â âadded,â âappended,â âimported,â âforeign.â Adjectives seem fairly innocent additions but look again. These small imported mechanisms are in charge of attaching everything in the world to its place in particularity. They are the latches of being.

For Glorious Maladies
Sometimes, I wish I could collapse into a snowbank and stare up at the stars. Just freezing to death, with the splendor of life leaving my bones.Â
I donât want to feel it- like the girl downstairs that almost died. I donât want the world, but I want its offerings. Like Jesusâ followers and the body and blood of Christ. We canât all be artists, but if some of us try, we might make it to France.
He told me not to do it, but I stole their hearts anyway. Unfortunately, they donât always follow and when they donât, the streets fall to the dogs.
We pale in comparison to the ideals set forth by our predecessors, yet we are individuals too. Arenât we? No vyvanse will save you, H. Donât you see? Itâs too late. You were always too late.
Iâm listening to the world sigh, and iItâs fragile like the delicate bones of a maltese // dying from cancer.
The revolution is now & theyâre marching South with their guns cocked for death and blood. But the war is over, and they didnât ask to be slaughtered. It just happened... again.Â
Glory belongs to the King,Â
they say.Â
But we are small,Â
like raindrops falling into the sea.Â
All I wanted was my art and the chance to be the creator of my own world, my own reality. I wanted the open road and new beginnings every day.

i always hated the sound of death on a manâs throat, but the silence was much worse.

Who has never killed an hour? Not casually or without thought, but carefully: a premeditated murder of minutes. The violence comes from a combination of giving up, not caring, and a resignation that getting past it is all you can hope to accomplish. So you kill the hour. You do not work, you do not read, you do not daydream. If you sleep it is not because you need to sleep. And when at last it is over, there is no evidence: no weapon, no blood, and no body. The only clue might be the shadows beneath your eyes or a terribly thin line near the corner of your mouth indicating something has been suffered, that in the privacy of your life you have lost something and the loss is too empty to share.
