He liked Caydhen. As reavers, they had an understanding. Pain came with immense rewards, the ability to hit harder and protection of their group. The two of them threw themselves in front of blows, pushing back enemy after enemy, keeping the fire off their cushier members.

But, Bull thought they'd come to an understanding. He'd stay on one side and Caydhen would stay on the other. Engaging with the same enemy slowed everyone down, and it wasn't like he'd needed help.

His hand went to Caydhen's shoulder once they were nearly back at camp, holding him back from the others.

"Hey."

His voice was neutral, his expression giving nothing away.

FORTUNATELY things went well this time despite his excitement, his delving into his qunari counterpart's side of the battlefield. he doesn't think anything more of it ( awareness of a newborn druffalo ) so when he's stopped just before the outskirts of their camp he's confused, turning and tipping his head inquisitively up at iron bull.
