Anyone have tips on learning second languages as an adult? Any programs or apps that you'd recommend? I'm trying to learn Spanish and struggling terribly with the process.

Why does Bethesda have such a hardon for cults?
A commission of dragon age
aging Cassandra has been living in my head for a while now, it is time to set her free
My Rook is a trans guy, and I wish to god I could pitch the feminine voice 1 option down lower. It would be perfect.
Having just competed a second playthrough of Veilguard, I am now even more grateful for the soundtrack of Inquisition. Music is so important to media, and the sweeping, pounding nature of ALL of Inquisition's score truly makes the emotion of each scene inescapable. The battles feel epic. The love scenes feel still, and intimate; like they're a reprieve from everything else. Each region truly has an audible flavor, and when I hear their particular soundtrack, I'm instantly transported there.
Moreover, even with each region having its own sound, there's enough consistency between tracks that I never lose sight of the fact that im still in the same worldscape. I feel like that's what gets lost in Veilguard. The music is often more interesting or fun than it is emotive and moving, and we're supposed to be facing gods at the end of the world. The feeling doesnt line up with the circumstance. Its not unpleasant music by any means. Its just not music that tells a story to match the one my eyes are seeing. Like why does the fight with Elger'nan sound like it belongs in ME:A?
And thats my complaint for most of Veilguard. There are parts that could be so good and interesting on their own (some of them), but they feel cobbled together and not like they're all part of the same creature. It does make me a little sad.
I think thats what I miss the most in Veilguard. All the other games have been about a hero, and you can feel that. This game tries to be too much: its a game about a hero, but also mostly about their team which means the hero is really only a zoo keeper for them, but also its about an anti-hero which means that the hero's decisions are actually only a flavor laid overtop the anti-hero's actions, and all of these plots were created in their own vacuums with tin can telephones to connect them.
On the upside, with there being so many gaps in the game's cohesion, there's plenty of room for fanfics to soothe the ache.
Completely agree on every point. Hans Zimmer is an incredibly talented composer but his style of composing doesnât lend itself well to the ambient or even quick feeling of video games. It has an incredibly movie like musical composition.
Veilguard also has a lot of weird silent moments because the music just isnât long enough or it doesnât loop?
And while I was pleased with the companions leitmotifs I feel like the absence of one for Rook that stands apart from the rest of the soundtrack really downplays that youâre supposed to be the main characterâŚ

The way that I ache for an Inquisition remaster... or an Origins remaster... and yet for some reason, DA2 feels perfect to me. Like don't touch her. She's an art piece and she's built the way God and Michelangelo's gay asses would have intended.
â¨ď¸"I would move the world before I lost you again, my love."â¨ď¸
Are you shitting me??
I'll piss on Veilguard's writing until the day I die, but they really cooked when they wrote Emmrich Volkarin.
My lesbian-adjacent ass when Emmrich calls me "my dear":
Also, making us "fight alongside Solas" and then showing us murals of his actual memories with narration was a missed opportunity. Those murals were lovely, but we should have been present in the style of the Pensive from Harry Potter (fuck JKR), or even present as Solas, himself. If they want to imply that the memories are distorted, they could have made the memory visually change once he started lying to himself, and clear up when the actual truth was on display. The more times I play this game, the more I can feel the lose threads and raw edges of what could have been such an fun and gorgeous tapestry.

Veilguard: this game is all about â¨ď¸bonding with your companionsâ¨ď¸
Me: great. So why can't I talk to them of my own accord? Like why, when we have down time, can't I go ask Taash what their favorite dragon is? Why don't I know any silly anecdotes about Illario and Lucanis growing up together? Why isn't my Mournwatcher Rook gossiping with his boyfriend about undead at the Grand Necropolis, or talking about what Watcher rituals they could bring to the Lighthouse? Why do I have to learn everything I'm going to learn about these people through missions? Let me talk to them. Let me form opinions of them so that I feel an intrinsic sense of reward when I help them complete a personal mission. Let me fucking bond with them instead of just telling me our bond has increased when we finish killing an enemy faction they dont like.
Emmrich: Itâs time to make Daddy proud. Flirting Stage!Rook:Â *salutes* Yes, Sir! Emmrich: I could not have been more clearly talking to Manfred.
