So, my personal thoughts and opinions on Trigun Stargaze are sort of mixed and I see almost all sides. I can see why some hate it and some love it. Some are just okay with it. For me personally as someone who’s not seen the original ‘98 or read the manga, I thought it started okay. Yet they did seem to try to cram a lot in from things I assume to be the manga, which seems to have led to too much in one sitting. It also seemed to be really fast paced toward the middle nearing the end sort of deal

While there are aspects of it I truly adore and lines that can actually be interpreted into real life/real world issues such as; “either we repeat the violence or we change” and some others about changing and breaking a cycle. There are some flaws in how it was all written. I personally didn’t like how they made Knives carry more than he originally did in Trigun Stampede (my thoughts anyway) and made him seem to care about Vash in a more brotherly way. It just wasn’t very ‘Knives’ if that makes sense? He’s not evil just for the sake of having an evil character, that I love because he has reasons and motives. Genuine ones at that since he and Vash suffered the same trauma as children but chose separate paths after The Great Fall

Regardless, I think Studio Orange did phenomenal on the designs up until Knives’ final appearance and Livio. I don’t like how they seemed to have handled what was interpreted as dissociative identity disorder for him either but that’s another topic I can get into another time, it would take too much time here

Overall personal opinion: it was okay. Not great, not god awful, just okay. Could they have done better with concepts and better understandings of certain things? Absolutely, 100%. Did they absolutely nuke Stargaze like some fans seem to think? Not in my personal opinion. This is all personal thoughts and opinions, nobody has to agree with me and everyone is entitled to their own thoughts

Also update, things unfortunately fell through despite my efforts with a couple things. I’m also having unfortunate circumstances with family and it’s taking all my time away from social media. I’m too drained and anxious to really be active much of anywhere besides Discord. Things have been incredibly difficult and without family support, it’s even harder I guess. I’m attempting to get into college myself with grants and scholarships + a few other things. I’m tired so being original isn’t something my brain is having an easy time with

It’s almost fanfic-like? I guess in a way? Because Knives seems to jump from “I finally did it! A brilliant success!” and even saying “you’re my accomplice! Well aren’t you, Vash?”

So to me, it seems a little forced that all the sudden his brother cares about him that deeply. Obviously they DID care about each other in Stampede too, but Stargaze kinda went above and beyond with it and in some of the best but also worst ways

I’m also not sure why Knives would let Legato physically and even mentally harm Vash to such an extent. Only to then not want anything happening to Vash, to then say that he did it all so nobody would have to cry again. Especially him. Yet Knives was such a huge cause of his pain to begin with. It’s almost hypocritical to a degree beyond that 😭🙏🏻 I just don’t have another word for it
