Linkedin makes me anxious, just like other social media.
I have seen a report before. It's about correlation between happiness and social media.
They found that people who use linkin are much happier and have a greater sense of fulfillment in their life. This was compared with some popular social media, such as Instagram, Facebook or x etc.
I could literally understand the meaning behind this phenomenon. On Linkin, everybody seems to be working hard and showing their energetic side. Its all about positive thinking and many energetic perspectives. So, It's reasonable and
understandable that people who use it experience greater happiness.
But when I really stpped into the business field, I found that social media always makes me anxious, no matter what the app is.
On Linkin, it shows how many connections you have. This is one of the reasons that makes me anxious.
Similar to Instagram, some people care about how many followers they get. They even spend money to gain more followers.
In school, especially in high school and college, your classmate and peers usually compete over the number of followers secretly.
It's like having more followers means more success.
But that's totally not true.
Another reason is that nobody posts the bad side of themselves. Everybody posts the perfect version of themselves.
Indeed, I know some people in my field who didn't really manage their accounts actively. But most business people did.
And I know reputation is really important in the business field.
I'm not the type of person who likes sharing, so managing a social account or posting my life to others makes me feel pressured.
