its sad how a lot of girls did like hinata especially in part one, she was the type to put in effort silently when no one else was watching and a lot of girls identified with that. but the naruto animation team and narutoâs male viewers exploited n abused her for horny points and it left a lot of its women viewers really disappointed in hinataâs arc and now sheâs justâŚnarutoâs wife and borutoâs mom. and this also sucks because it sounds like im undermining the role of a housewife/mother but i canât help but criticize it because every single female character ends up like this once theyâre married, and the show clearly does state that women are there to help the men become stronger. and iâve heard the animation team reduced or replaced the roles of other characters to bump up hinataâs screentime with naruto. and the whole issue with kishi saying he killed neji so his death could serve as a âcupidâ for naruto and hinata. all these did nothing to actually build up naruto and hinataâs relationship, but only served to garner hinata haters. if the animation team really did care about hinata, they would have had her do something about the hyuuga clanâs slavery issue or just given her some substantial arc rather than have her just stutter in front of naruto. thereâs not even enough material given to her for me to dislike her, thatâs how poorly sheâs written. and i do think some people hate hinata unfairly, but the thing a lot of women criticize is kishi and the animation teamâs inability to write women and the male viewers who call her a goddess for being their ideal wife material since hinataâs relationship with naruto is most definitely male self-insert. what many (women) fans criticize is the male consumption of hinata, not hinata herself. yet women viewers still get accused on misogyny for disliking hinataâs role in the show. and all of this is frustrating because the conclusion is: they really do hate women.
