Being a Ravenclaw means having 3am conversations about the meaning of life. It means effortlessly excelling classes, and daydreaming in them because the material is too easy. Being a Ravenclaw means dusty sheet music and tarnished brass instruments. It means playing Mozart whenever there’s a piano in sight. It means pointing out all the constellations on a starry night. Being a Ravenclaw means having messy hair, beanies, and oversized sweaters in autumn. It’s a library’s old curtains and the smell of books. It means telling everyone random facts. Being a Ravenclaw means sitting outside under a tree with a good book. It’s the sound of light rain against the window. It’s notebooks in all sizes and colors, and having ink stains on hands. It’s the sound of cat paws on wooden floors. It means always asking why. Being a Ravenclaw means researching random topics because it’s way better than doing Potions homework. It means having either really neat or really messy handwriting, there’s no in-between. It means finding a long, really good book and staying up all night to finish it. It means coming up with a secret language that only Ravenclaws know. Being a Ravenclaw means dancing in the rain, even when there’s a 30 percent chance you could get electrocuted. It means painting with watercolors. It means learning to speak to the mermaids in the lake. It means being addicted to coffee. It means reading muggle science books because magic can be boring sometimes. It means not even caring about house points because Gryffindor wins it every year. Being a Ravenclaw means sneaking into the Forbidden Forest to take notes on the wildlife. It means calculating the chances of winning during a Quidditch match. It means plotting the best schemes with Slytherin. It’s the smell of acrylic paint and having paintbrushes everywhere. Being a Ravenclaw is writing a novel on an old typewriter. It’s leather bound books. It’s learning a language just for fun. It’s hair flowing in the wind. It’s having a random whisper of a thought before drifting off to sleep.
