“do you think that somewhere there are just modern-day viking city just living their viking lives?”

“why in the hell would i be thinking about vikings when i have all of this to think about,” she gestured to herself and scoffed. “maybe you need a new hobby, other than vikings you could try, oh i don’t know, knitting?”

“you know, being in english speaking countries just makes the urge to sing classics like ‘barbie girl’ even stronger.”

“sometimes i wonder where the teddy i know and love has gone, but then i remember that ‘barbie girl’ matches your aesthetic. cringe.” the fake tears she was pulling really made her think she was ready to be an actress. it was all she could do to keep herself from laughing.

Yunseo walked into the living room with a slight pout. She was in a little bit of a mood today, and she needed affection. “Hug me,” she requested, holding her arms out. “Please.”

“Yep. Been here a few times. Not a ton, though, mind you.” He glanced at her sideways, smirking a little bit. “It’s a walk in frozen yogurt place, not a restaurant run by…people i know,” Daquan replied. He still thought it was kind of funny she thought he was some kind of rich boy socialite or something. Sure, he had plenty of wealth, but there was a lot more than that. And that was soon made clear by their surroundings– after walking a couple blocks, Daquan couldn’t help but notice they had a tail. A few blocks more, and there were now three people following them. Or, more accurately, him– they didn’t care about her.  Taking her hand and squeezing it, he muttered, “You trust me, right?”

Tia shrugged, playful grin present underneath her mask. “I was just wondering and figured I would ask ahead of time,” The amount of unexpected or unusual things happening recently had spiked significantly and she was attempting to be more observant of it all. Like asking more questions. She felt him take her hand..nothing abnormal. Randomly asking if she trusted him was a bit on the stranger side of things at the current moment. Her eyes quickly scanned his face. “ Okay, cryptic. Of course I do. You haven’t given me a reason not to...Why?” 

“oh please– who would i share them with if not you? who else would put them to proper use, huh?” riah pointed out with a laugh. she smiled slyly, hands on her hips. “well, all you had to do was say so– you know i don’t mind in the slightest.”

“you raise a valid point.” tia snickered. “but we’ve been so busy, there isn’t much time for quality naps. do you think nap orgies are a thing? they are like orgies, but minus the sex part and everyone just naps together? i feel like there isn’t and that one of humanities mistakes, them not having this be a thing is on level with someone wearing crocs unironically.”

“all the food. duh.”

“it’s so nice to be like minded in times like this. why limit ourselves when there is so many different things. good thing I brought my fun wallet today. ”

“we had this talk– doesn’t mean i listened,” sinhye said with a wave of her hand. part of her hated most pictures of herself (she didn’t think herself photogenic), and the rest of her just didn’t care, but she didn’t post very often at all. “i dunno. this is literally all alien to me.”

“that’s the policy of being around me, i never stop talking and whether people listen or not isn’t my problem. but, i really wish you had listened to this. networking and social media is important, so is aesthetic. the trick is to match a cute picture of yourself with a cute description, people seem to really like that. idea! turn so the phone and me can only see your side profile. sit there and lean back casually. it’ll come out great and you don’t really have to do anything.”

“i can teach you how to cook for real if you want…” liène offered with a little smile. “i forgot it was so graphic, okay! i made sure to cover subin’s eyes……um….well, let’s see what’s new on netflix?”

“even if your safety is at risk?” tia wished that was a joke. “did anyone cover her ears? netflix, nextflix. see, i think we should just go with a horror movie. we can all huddle in together and the ones who get the most scared could be in the middle. the fear can make it a bonding experience.” she always used this pitch to get others to watch horror movies with her, which was often.

“of course i know your angles. how long have we lived together?” she pointed out. “might as well. my instagram is bare besides pictures of scenery and clips of demo tracks.”

“a long time,” she replied, she made a valid point. tia blinked. “did you just say bare instagram?” she pulled up her instagram on her phone. “i could have sworn we had this talk before, but we are going to fix this monstrosity. impromptu photo shoot for your poor instagram is now in session. go over to where i was? what vibe should we go for..”

“i heard you wanted to see me?” sebin asked with rightful apprehension, “something about you and teddy needing information about me, hydra and yeonseok?”

tia pulled up the notes on her phone she had prepared. “i did, take a seat?” this was a strange way to get information, but not the strangest. she just hoped that he didn’t take this the wrong way. “yeah, so..i’m going to ask you some..interesting questions. all for purely scientific reasons. where should we start. hm. oh!  maybe let’s start with who is the biggest.” 

“We can get whatever you want– just so long as I don’t keep you from your group too long. Unless you’re ready to explain to your manager and your company’s HR team why you missed a schedule because you were out with another company’s HR rep,” he said with a little snort. He wasn’t an idol– he could be out and about without a facemack, which was cool with him. Those things looked stifling. “C’mon. I think I know where there’s a place,” he said, offering her his hand.

She rolled her eyes, not at him but at the limited time. Tia took his hand without question. “And for your information, they wouldn’t know I was out with another companies HR rep. I would have gotten carried away shopping--wouldn’t be the first time that has happened. Definitely won’t be the last. Have you been to this place before? Are we going to get VIP treatment like last time?”

“a middle name i am quite proud of and happy to have earned,” riah said with a decisive nod, corner of her mouth quirking up. when she heard tia get distracted, she laughed, following tia into their room and adjusting the pin and the straps, and then the collar after that, making sure tia looked up to riah’s standards. “you gotta save something for later. build your way up. the pictures need to get more suggestive as you go, and if you jump right to straight tits on the first picture, there’s not a lot of ways you can go after that.”

tia looked at the finishing touches and wrapped both her arms around riah, resting her head on her shoulder. a small sigh leaving her. “building my way up...saving for later. i got it, i just need to get some patience. which is hard--but, i can try.  is that your secret to phone flirting? i’m so touched i get your trade secrets and your constant presence. when will anyone ever be as lucky as i am? the answer is nobody. speaking of boobs, i miss between practice napping on yours,” she paused to pout. “I really don’t nap right without them.”

“i thought i wasn’t allowed to pick for movie night anymore, after last time!” Liène said, cocking her head to the side. “at least you aren’t banned from cooking inside the dorm ever again. which is really unfair! how am i meant to learn? can i help that i grew up with a personal chef? no, no i cannot. plus, other than not being able to understand anything-- the rest of it wasn’t bad. It may have scarred a few of the young’ins to. either way, i think you should be given a second chance..that and even though my brain is amazing it doesn’t contain any movie ideas at the moment.  in simpler terms, please just help me.”
