âOhâŚÂ that shit. The fuckinâ feds came round for that? Damn. I canât believe he a snitch. What a pussy.â Fez paused for longer than usual, wondering how or if he could talk his way out of this one. Although heâd done it for the right reason, his act had been violent, and not caused by a need for self defence; he shouldâve expected this outcome considering the amount of witnesses.
Fezco glanced at Ash, who of course stayed silent, waiting to see if his brother would take an honest approach. Fez didnât really see another option, and just hoped that Ruth would understand. âLook, Ruth. Man⌠this guy deserved it, okay? Heâs a fuckinâ bitch. He keeps beatinâ on his brother, treatinâ him and his friends like shit. Ainât nobody else gonnaâ do nothinâ, so I did. I was teachinâ him a lesson.âÂ
â'That shit?ââ His response was outright confirmation of his involvement, and she groaned. âGod damnit, Fez.â Why couldnât everybody just keep their heads down like they were supposed to? Seeing him debate what to say next, work out what to tell her, Ruth narrowed her eyes at him. His hesitation only served to piss her off more, not in the mood for bullshit. She knew him too well for that anyway, and theyâd just be wasting time they didnât have. âYou better not be about to fuckinâ lie to me,â she warned, arms still crossed.
Thankfully, he continued on with an explanation, one Ruth knew to be the truth. Whilst she was grateful theyâd cut the shit, she couldnât say she cared for his reasoning. âListen, cuz â I donât care if heâs the bitchiest bitch of all the punk bitches. You donât get fuckinâ involved, not if it ainât for family, you should know that. Who the hell are these people, anyway? Since when you are playinâ bodyguard for some fuckinâ randoms?â
With an aggravated sigh, she finally dropped her arms. Their family wasnât new to abuse, her own dad arguably the worst out of their family tree, so she was sure Fez was just acting on instinct. Still, they had to be better than this now. They had to be smarter. âNo more fuckinâ lessons, alright? You keep out of it. I got a plan for this family, and it ainât gonna play out in a jail cell. Now youâre expected down at the council chambers, so we gotta come up with somethinâ and fast.â She looked over at Ash, the kid also obviously thinking. âAnyone see you at this party? Besides the guy with brain damage.â
