To celebrate the Imperial victory in the player-driven Siege of Death Mire campaign on Armageddon, they’ve released… an Ultramarines mini.

This is the image they chose in the article to promote the next stage of the fight. They could not be bothered to paint a librarian in Blood Angel colors.

However, we can look at other photos from past reveals of Armageddon box:

Buddy. Pal. Sweetie. My poor fucking meow meow. Turning “REALLY problematic” prisoners into servitors isn’t ethical. At all. Even slightly. That’s still a person. A bad person, but a person.

Vat-grown, brain-dead bodies, sure. That’s more ethical than doing it to a random person, and “civilised” worlds with the requisite technological access or agreements with the Mechanicus can do that.

In other news I had an Alpha Strike match two days ago. It was more learning experience - my Clan Sea Fox star was noticeably slower than the highly refitted Hunchbacks and Linebackers. By sheer firepower I managed to get a victory, but barely. Speed has a quality all its own, apparently. It does dishearten me a little though; the more optimized a wargame is, the more it tends to be uniform and bland. Too samey.

Recently, I played the Gaslands narrative campaign at a local tabletop games club. 3 games over 4 sessions. I built and played the War Rig for it, and I wanted to do something special to celebrate the model, and completing the campaign.
