Hello! This is my blog. I know long intros can be daunting, so Ill keep it short.

I am Clavem. My favorite colors are Purple and Brown, and sometimes Red. I like things such as; bronze, keys, fireflies, buttons, bottles, and other such trinkets and knicknacks. They/it/Zim is appropriate.

Buzz is very jealous of Flutter. Flutter gets praised on how beautiful and graceful she is by the visitors, but those same people seem disturbed by Buzz's insectile features.

This beef is one sided, Flutter not even noticing it the majority of the time.

Buzz doesnt talk about it, not even with Astro, be he knows about it. When he offers comfort, they brush him off, and this leads to the feelings of envy and guilt for the envy growing.

STATS

I wanted to make Buzz's stats something that I would love to play with. I enjoy extracting as Shrimpo due to the low skill check, so I wanted to make sure that I implemented that. But to balance that out, I wanted to make the extraction fast, to lessen the chance of getting a bunch of skill checks and failing them. I also love distracting as Flutter, so I had to make sure that the base movement speed would be able to carry without an over reliance on stamina. Distracting is also helped, not only by their low stealth, but their passive ability, finally allowing for a proper distractor even with Brightney or Shrimpo in the run.

TRINKET

Their trinket calls back to their poster, being a spike of lavender. Lavender is known for its calming properties, so I figured it would raise skill check and extraction speed because the holder would be calmer, and thus clear minded to focus properly. I also wanted it to call back to Buzz's passive ability, so I used the number of twisteds again, but in a way that would make sense for extracting.

TWISTED

Twisted Buzz was inspired by multiple things from cannon twisted's development. From the appearance taking ideas from the old twisted Flutter concepts, to the implied deciving behavoir from the concept art of twisted Glisten. Twisted Sprout inspired the half icor face look for the twisted, complimenting the damage on one side of twisted Buzz. The damage implies a story, possible struggle between Buzz and a twisted before they themself got infected.

Their behavoir was fully inspired by Phontious Photuris, a type of predatory firefly that preys on Phontious Pyralis. They look exactly alike, and the Photuris mimicks the signals between Pyralis to lure them in and eat them. I wanted to implement this in a creative way, so I let twisted Buzz be able to use the sticker function. Possibly using the golden stickers that can be seen through walls or the "bandage here" sticker to lure players in to their location.

Their normal lurking speed is abysmal, however, if a player comes to the sticker call, they match the speed of twisted Glisten in chase.

In blackouts, their broken lantern would flash •••–––••• or SOS in morse code. Not effective on players, but furthering the idea and connection between their inspirations from Phontius Photuris.

Overall, I had a great time thinking about all this and finding ways to implement these ideas into function.

Buzz was made as a sort of buddy for Astro, similar to Cosmo and Sprout. Like Astro, Buzz is meant to be a quieter and calmer toon, and they had a section in Garden View for children that needed quiet and were more seculded. Their section was for overwhelmed visitors to "recharge", thus the poster slogan.

Buzz is actually quite jealous of Flutter. People reacted more positively to the butterfly, as opposed to the beetle.
