Hey, guys. RustedMonkeyKing here. Here with a big and weird announcement: I'm basically splitting into four separate entities!
What does that mean? WHY does that mean?? After many years of trying to figure out how the heck to represent myself online, I've come to the conclusion that limiting my online persona to one limits my own sense of identity. So going forward I'll be represented by four different personas, one for each sort of facet of art I express and the array of complex emotions and thoughts I possess. Four seems like a healthy number, sacred too.
Another thing I'm going to COMMIT to doing is keeping up with an online presence. In truth, the current age of unhealthy parasocial relationships plus the ALGORITHM has spoiled my appetite for blogging, possibly online engagement altogether. However I realize that in order to maintain an existence of some sort, I need to actually do some existing! Frustrating! But it must be done. Like I muscle, I need to work out my social skills. Also in the sea of dangerous strangers there are some real gems out there...
I'm currently dealing with irl bullshit (hoowee when aren't we am I right?) so I'm going about this by babysteps, but the grand plan begins to unravel starting with this post. After tumblr I'll start on my bluesky blog, refurbish my kofi page, et cetera.
