We depart our loneliness, just as we endure our suffering. But we cannot depart our suffering. It follows us. We are never alone because of it. Everywhere we go, it follows. We were born to suffer. We live to suffer. We breathe solely so we may suffer. Suffering is a part of life, and pain is a part of life. Pain is life. Life is pain. But suffering is more than mere pain. It is the emptiness you feel between each of your stunted breaths when you cry. The sorrow buried deep within your heart when you close your door upon the world and pretend to cherish your solitude. You have fooled yourself for now. Enjoy it, for the feeling is fleeting. Only suffering is forever. It will never leave you.

This was once a thriving community. Now it is husk of its former glory. We were all placed upon this earth to suffer in its absence. It was only a matter of time before the former aeon would be replaced by the next. A bigger, better, stronger time. The implications are endless. There are harder battles yet to lose. Greater truths to discover. And more pain. So much more, all waiting to be shared.

It’s funny. Just the other day, I realized how insignificant we all are. In a world as large as this, what value does an individual truly hold? None, you may say. But this is far from the truth. We are all worth something. For instance: I am worth nothing. And so are you.

Does this confuse you? Allow me to explain with a simple example. Can one be worth their weight in gold? It is unlikely. The value of gold is a human construct, much like the concept of self-worth. Do you understand now? The world is an accumulation of debris floating aimlessly through space. It has no trajectory, because there is nothing to aim for. There is no final goal. Much like the lives we lead, its journey serves no purpose. It only moves because it knows nothing else. It can do nothing else, for moving is all it has ever done and ever will do.

But look at me rambling on. The honeypickers must all have joined the back rows by now. If anything, their lots should have been counted twice. Moreover, the final show has been postponed. Now we all partake in the deafening silence. Wait — listen. Yes. It is there.

It is not every day that helpless children are abandoned in the cold. Rarely do so many people leave their legacy in droves. The old rivers grow mighty indeed. Mighty and ripe with reed. The wind blows calmly through these bushes, and the night’s howls are interrupted only by the lunar gaze. For a moment, the world ceases to exist. But only to you. The stars seem especially hypnotic on this night. Even your suffering has faded, albeit for an instant. What do you truly have to lose?

As sad as that is I’m not gonna let it stop me! I’ve gone ahead and made a Twitter as that seems the thing to do and you can still find me on Patreon! The cheapest pledge is still $2 so as far as Tumblr replacements go Twitter is your best bet!

I’m not going to tell people what to do or what to think, but I do have some points I’d like to share. Keep in mind, these are just my thoughts and personal guidelines, although I do hope they will inspire some self-reflection.

Before I start: yes, this post is based on some uncomfortable personal experiences I’ve had with people in this community, but I’ve tried to keep it as objective as possible. Let me be clear: this is not drama. My hope is that this post will help spare more feelings from being hurt and prevent artists from feeling attacked or threatened into spans of silence and demotivation.

1. Are accusations being used to hurt an individual’s image/credibility? Be critical and demand evidence. It can be tempting to base your opinion of someone else on feelings. There’s just one problem with this approach: feelings are easily manipulated. Evidence is a great tool for preventing such tactics. It forces the manipulator to transition from “white lie” territory to straight-up forgery (something that’s very hard to pull off and every bit as easy to disprove). Optimally, you should always base your opinion of specific individuals on personal experience. Trust your own judgment. Don’t let others do the thinking for you.

And if someone does bring up another person’s name in an accusation, casually or otherwise, ask yourself what reasons they might have for saying these things. Is it possible they might be lying? Sometimes, motives are rooted in simple things such as jealousy or frustration. Once you ask for evidence, you may notice that their entire story quickly falls apart. Screenshots of conversations are particularly useful for this. It doesn’t take long to piece together the puzzle and find out who’s lying when you have the cold, hard facts laid out in front of you.
