When you tape your hands to the steering wheel and drive full force into whatever it is you love, the universe tends to give back in big ways. I came to my favorite mural festival in the world with the exceptions and willingness to volunteer and help out. I’m leaving with this magical place with amazing friends and stories I’ll never forget. The @powwowworldwide team is made up of people from all over the world 🌎 and every single one of them couldn’t have been more helpful and kind, even after busting their ass in the hot sun all day their support and positive energy fueled my whole experience 24/7. The knowledge you gain by being in front of works of art by your favorite artist is priceless, Instagram and social media are amazingly awesome tools but nothing compares to seeing brush stokes and spray paint fades close up. On top of that getting to actually speak with artist I’ve looked up to for years and hear them talk about process and daily life is the 🍒.. Talking to someone in the moment as their doing what they love creates an unfiltered honesty that only occurs in the moment of being passionate and raw, these chances are rare and my note book is full. Every single night of the festival I made notes, list and graphs for myself instead of partying and being out late, gaining everything I could to grow from this and succeed was a true love that was hitting harder then ever. The Egos at Powwow we’re nonexistent and the difference between shepherd fairy or an artist that had 3,000 likes on Instagram didn’t matter, every single artist and person involved in this festival is truly about painting and sharing their knowledge.
