He who seeks pleasure in Tall-tales

As they predicted, not only did that one single Tauros caught her attention, several more came to sight, much more than the Miltanks.

Suddenly, they heard a shaking sound, as the ground beneath them trembled.

"Well then it--" 

A-ya stopped himself as he felt the ground beneath them tremble. As his head turned his eyes seemed to widen. Just what the hell was- And there it was. The vision of the hoard of Tauros in the distance running in their direction.

As she intently focused her gaze, she was surprised that not only one Miltank caught her attention but two more came in her line of sight and moved towards them.

"Um… I’m not really sure…" Well, technically, she couldn’t tell because every time she caught a crowd, she usually ditched and ran.

"You won't get answers that way..." He hums a bit before looking around. "First we'll try it on a female pokemon. We'll see how she reacts- but make sure you try to focus all your energy on her, alright?" He looks around and spots a rather feminine looking pokemon for the approach.

After a few moments of silence, Misaki slid to the ground, breathing a sigh of relief. Though it pained him to have to run away, even he knew that he was no matched for the crazed wild Pokemon, especially given that it was part fighting type. The bruise he had been granted earlier was enough reminded to the boy that he should avoid Fighting types, as their attacks hurt far worse than others. 

While allowing himself to catch his breath, Misaki glanced around the cave, quickly spotting the boy he had temporarily teamed up with. Standing, Misaki made his way over, casting his gaze downward at the hiding figure. 

"No- all the pokemon here are lower level. They aren't hostile at all. More over, if we simply avoid them then we can avoid damage altogether." He paused for a moment, shaking his head. What was he saying? We? That didn't make sense to him. He could walk through the dungeon without any doubt in his mind that he could make it back alive. So he turns his back on the poochyena- only to begin moving forward into the dungeon. He would leave Yata behind and then he would be done with it.

"Teehee! My name is Momo Kisaragi! I’m a new idol starring from the Energetic Forest! Take care of me please! ~♥”

And that eased some of the tension that had built up in his body. He could handle these creatures without battle if their mannerisms matched the familiar. Masking the little apprehension that still held him, he approached the first creature he saw, still hulling A-ya on his shoulder. 

"Could you help me out a little?" His tone was even, but still gave the feeling that he was worried, but not frantic. "My friend was attacked, and I need a place where he can get some help." 

The pokemon, kindly and… pink, gave a warm smile in reply. From its apron pouch, it took out a rather large egg. C-ta looked at it curiously, unsure of what to think of the object in front of him or its use. The creature simply giggled at C-ta’s confusion before bonking the egg on A-ya’s head, cracking it open. In the egg was not yoke, but a soothing aura that surrounded A-ya’s body.

At first, A-ya felt a jolt his body, and it completely stiffened entirely. But that was a possible side-effect from being unconscious for far much longer than one would have expected or hoped for. His fingers twitched, soon coiling around the fabric against C-ta's shoulders. A soft grunt escaped the boy before he slowly, but surely raised his head from it's resting place against C-ta's shoulder. He looked at the rather cheerful and... pink pokemon before that sudden tingly numbness kicked in. His body stiffened once again, and his toes moved wiggled around his his own shoes. He didn't quite enjoy the feeling, but as it subsided he squirmed to indicate to the Gallade that he was ready to stand on his own.

"Let me down..." He spoke softly as another pokemon approached the Chansey and had occupied her attention.

  The girl suddenly blinked in surprise when his name slipped out of her mouth. How did that name come to mind? And his of all of people? He held a strange reaction when she said it, and she knew it was definitely his. But why did she know it?

Shaking her head immediately out of that thought, D-ne decided she would still continue to pester the boy. What else could she do during this idle. boring time? The other wasn’t the greatest of a conversationalist and she found him highly irritating, but it was better than nothing.

His mind wandered just as much as his mouth seemed to ache to tell the tale. But unsure of how to go about speaking when this girl knew just who he was and what he was like. What kind of game was this anyway? Well- it didn't seem harmful at the moment, seeing as though she wasn't quite the only one who intended on declaring their knowledge of his habits and his name as well. With the very thought he recollected his simple encounter with the Gallade who- in his confusion- attacked the body doubles he created while practicing his own abilities. Naturally, he held his guard.

But a good tall-tale would melt away his own nerves, wouldn't it? He licked his lips concentrating his thoughts before he began. The feeling was... familiar. But there was two things missing..

However, the deed had been already done. A-ya was lying unconscious on the ground with bite marks on his shoulder and it was all because of the pokemon in front of him. C-ta rushed forward with his glowing blades, solidified psychic power making them even bigger. Two slices and the enemy was defeated. 

He took a deep breath to calm himself, retracting his blades, before turned to assess A-ya’s condition. The bite wound looked like it needed attention, but C-ta had no knowledge on how to treat it properly. For now, he would do what he could do: take the other to a safer area. He slung A-ya around his shoulders and began walking towards the exit of the forest.

However, eventually on the way towards the town, he was soon able to gather the strength to do at least that. Whatever reserved strength he had left would be for opening his eyes and watching where it was that the Gallade was taking him. And he was sooner surprised to find that it was the town they were headed for.

"Damn you-" Misaki cursed under his breath, but before he could say anymore, he caught a glimpse of a bright light out of the corner of his eye. However, he dare not take his eyes off the incoming foe. Misaki readied his body for another attack, though that was cut short as well. A surprised huff of breath left him as he was shoved aside. Misaki reared on A-ya, fury in his gaze until he realized what was happening.

The boy watched as the stranger took the hit, and landed a blow on the enemy. Misaki was a bit shocked by the actions, and while he was initially frustrated that the other stepped in a showed him up, he was also relieved that the bright ray had seemed to do more than his dark attack had. 

Misaki hesitated a bit, contemplating attacking again and still a bit shocked from being shoved. The hesitation cost him, though. Misaki watched as A-ya bolted from the scene, and before he could shout anything after the boy, Misaki found himself doing the exact same thing. A bright flurry of flames sent the Poochyena running, desperate to avoid the flames. However, his hesitation had caused him to be a bit too slow, and he felt the hot burn along the side of his right arm while making his getaway. 

The Shedinja had no intention of showing the Poochyena up, but rather just making it out of the situation alive. The aggressive boy's pride wasn't something that A-ya would even think about concerning himself with. He was just going to run for the entrance of the dungeon, barely being missed by the flame since the poochyena was coming up right behind him. 

He ducked behind a rock near the entrance. Panting to try and catch his own breath. He swallowed had and found himself pressing his back up against the rock, his halo visible to any who entered. Well- he made it known, just in case Yata would like to come find him again. Which he doubted. However, he was startled by the desperate echo of sprinting footsteps, and the cave being lit with the huge gush of a flamethrower straight towards the entrance.

He heart raced for a moment, had the other pokemon been killed? Was he wrong about the plan? No no... Perhaps the Poochyena was far much slower than he was. However, his concern was trained only on surviving as he sank further onto the ground. Hoping that the footsteps approaching weren't those of the irate Blaziken.

Restlessness. 

It had been a few weeks since C-ta had awoken in this foreign land, bestowed powers beyond any human, beyond any creature from his home. He had become adept at using the blades that emerged from his arms as well as the psychic power he now possessed. Of course, this was not simply a means to pass time.

His memories, upon waking, were jumbled and full of holes. Being alone with his thoughts caused him to feel an encroaching insanity, vying to consume his psyche. He did not yet posses the ability to put a reign on his thoughts, so he simply occupied himself.

But the primary reason for his training was the one thing he vaguely remembered: a friend, a hopelessly weak friend, who he swore to protect despite not recalling exactly why he swore such a thing. A-ya. 

Only a few times had the other left C-ta’s sight in the time he was awake. 

This was not one of those times, C-ta assured himself as he frantically searched around the forest A-ya usually occupied. One moment, from his perch in the trees, he could see the other walking so idly, then the next, he couldn’t see him at all. 

He could, however, hear signs of a struggle for a moment, leading him to believe there was some danger. He couldn’t afford to lose A-ya to some weak creature; he couldn’t afford to lose A-ya at all. 

To begin with, A-ya wasn't much of a fighter. He didn't start battles, he only walked into territories, silently hoping that he wasn't going to be ambushed- but mostly charged by aggressive pokemon. Usually, that was the case, and most of which were weaker pokemon who he could confuse and move much faster than. He depended on luck mostly to give him easier opponents- but this time things were different. Much different.

Snake pokemon were usually poison types, so they had little effect on him to begin with- however, they did have one move that could possibly bring A-ya down in one fatal swoop. Neither was A-ya quick enough to dodge, nor did he see it coming. In one fatal swoop, he felt the sharp teeth sink into his own shoulder as a tail coiled a around his own body. He was trying to cling to the consciousness that was being now squeezed out of him.

"Ghh... aahh..!" 

The Poochyena glanced over, his thoughts broken when the stranger muttered something that he was just barely able to make out, "Fire and fighting?" he echoed. The bruise on his cheek ached, and he was reminded of the beating he took from the fighting type he had quarreled with earlier. Misaki frowned. Before he could say anything more, his attention was brought to the cave they could escape into. 

"Tch-" Misaki clicked his tongue, "Quit tellin’ me what to do!" he snapped, his voice much lower than before though still aggravated. Despite hating the thought of working with the guy that he was ready to brawl with moments ago, Misaki knew it may very well be their only out, especially if the new foe could pack a punch worse than the earlier opponent did. 

He listened to the other’s suggestion, his frown deepening. "How many time do I need to say it? Don’t tell me what to do!" he retorted. However, he wasn’t dense- he knew something needed to be done. After swallowing down the fact that he would indeed have to work with the stranger, he huffed, "But since you insist, I’ll help ya’ out! I mean, it’d be awful of me to leave a weaker guy in need."

Although annoying, at least the poochyena was cooperating with him. They would lose the larger pokemon in the dungeon and then travel through to make it back into town. Or at least that was the intended plan.

Just as Yata had rushed, A-ya had noticed that he was quite pressed for time. He wished he had a little more- but there was no use this time as the much larger pokemon was charging straight for Yata with an uppercut at ready. He focused all his energy into a bright ball of light that flickered in different colors. Just as the uppercut was about to connect A-ya rushed into close proximity. 

Shoving the poochyena aside as he launched the ball into the Blaziken's face, the uppercut connected into his side. Or- so he had assumed, since he didn't seem to have felt any pain. This being the result of his Wonder Guard, the fighting type move didn't effect him. He had been lucky, but now it seemed the pokemon was outraged and confused as he had so-well planned.

Misaki winced, "Don’t think you can tell me what to do!" he argued, protesting the request for silence. The other male’s sudden change of subject, from their little argument to suddenly demanding silence, was only further frustrating. However, even Misaki could see the other’s whole demeanor completely change with it, sending a feeling of uneasiness through him. 

"What the hell is wrong this time? Somethin’ else bump your shoulder?" he questioned, his voice no longer a yell. Misaki stared at the other, his expression turning into more of a questioning one than an angry one. After deciding that he was indeed focusing in one something in the distance, Misaki’s eyes followed the other’s gaze, right down to what he was staring at. 

"It's a fire type... A fire and fighting type... I think..." His own voice was only just below a mutter. So only the poochyena could hear him speak. But still he was becoming very cautious with the on-coming threat to the both of them.

"Listen... We can make it out, if we escaped into that cave over there..." A-ya doesn't point, but trains his eyes on the entrance of the cave. "There aren't many strong creatures in there.... Especially not those that could seem like they'd give us fatal blows..."

His day hadn’t gone off well, and this recent encounter was causing everything to become even worse than it already was. He simply wanted to make some extra money- and now he had to deal with some depressed-looking guy. All in all, it was a bad day, and made Misaki’s mood rather sour. 

"Tch-! You think I’m the one harassing you? You’re the smartass challenging me!" Misaki spat, his voice level still rather high. Whether the statement was true or not, the Poochyena believed it. He practically snarled in frustration, the urge to just strike out at the guy raising. 

Though he soon wasn't paying too much attention towards the boy any longer. His eyes were trained on something completely different. Some other... large... pokemon. His guess was that the poochyena's irritable voice seemed to have attracted some unwanted and aggressive attention. "I'm not challenging you... keep it down..." 

"Shut up and stay still..." A-ya announces again, rather quietly as slowly the large pokemon slowly approaches them. He keeps his head down to avoid the eye contact of either, but he sees it. He knows it's there- and he wasn't about to let any of the attention of such an angry pokemon draw onto him. Especially not because of this boy who couldn't keep his trap shut. No- this was much worse of a situation than A-ya had predicted, they were just on the outskirts of town, in dungeon territory. He should have been much more careful than he had been- especially when irate pokemon like this large one were very common.
