So many great tributes to the incredible Eddie Van Halen, it’s touching. To me, as a kid who grew up playing guitar from age 8yrs, and attempting to cover Van Halen records in my first band age 10yrs, he was my absolute idol, there was actually no other guitarist quite like him and no one ever since. The solo on MJ’s ‘Beat It’, I still believe to be the greatest guitar solo on a commercial record of all time, it is untouchable. He was cool AF, and his talent was just on another level altogether, it was so effortless how he played mind blowing solos, and jumped around a stage, if there ever was a true example of the term ‘Rock Star’, Eddie Van Halen was just that. You inspired so many greats, and so many kids like me who have gone on to have a career In music.
