Everyone is trying to appeal to your badly atrophied sense of nostalgia. I'm predicting smellovision will drive people insane.

The Adventure that was Politipiggle.
I created my own political cartoon, and made a couple of local papers! It might have seemed small beans to me in the beginning, but the feeling of having completed something and put it out there...
This summer I will be working on the edit of my first draft of ‘Garudanacht’. Knowing that I can finish a project like this fills me with determined hope.
Have you seen the employment prospects for badgers? Countrywide the unemployment figures stand at an above-average 99% and higher. Perhaps before condemning this poor young badger's decision, we should seek a rapprochement with the badger community and see if we can't improve their lot. We need to make training and education more available to the badger community, for a start. Did you know: over half of badgers have never been to school. The other half have also not been. This is a criminal statistic. In all honesty, it's probably Europe's fault. An influx of Serbian and Romanian badgers are muscling in and marrying our badger women. They're seen as better prospects because they have bigger badger penises. This is important to badgers and something that MUST STOP. Otherwise, we will see more widespread badger suicide. This is everyone's responsibility.
Working on a new series of political cartoons called "politipiggle". Feel like it might need its own site, but we aren't just there yet.

I'm very curious to see how the ECIG debate shapes up...keep reading about kids eating the capsules and being rushed to hospital. If I was a cynical man, I'd say that tobacco companies have found the perfect way to hook new smokers. Get the kids hooked on the nicotine breathers, just another way for people to get high.
They should just stick with huffing glue, like the rest of us.
Buh-buh-BACK
I work a nightshift. I arrive at work around 10pm, sit down--and I don't get up again until 6am. The work itself is straightforward, and the same every night. It is not enjoyable, and sleeping during the day is exhausting.
But I do it, because I can.
I get every other week off, which seems like an awesome perk--but I always need the first couple of days to recover. I've used my free time well though, almost finished my 100,000 word monstrosity of a novel. I'm self-sufficient and really happy.
I'm too comfortable. It's time to change jobs, man. So here we go again.
I'm a writer and an ardent traveler. I've been around the world, and I'm still not ready to go home.
I discovered this site while on the job hunt. You basically take your best shots and add words to them. Kind of similar to a technique I've been working on myself, although all of my images are hand drawn.
And it includes travelling, so you know...I'm there.
This here is Miss Kim, and she is the barrier between Korea's curious youth and the less talked about aspects of the internet. She is the last and only line of defence to protect their young minds- we’re all totally insane about protecting them but Miss Kim goes beyond! She goes beyond! An unfeeling sentinel to defeat the delightful madness of pornography at source.
I drew this to try and impress an employer. With Miss Kim in my corner, I feel confident of doing damn near anything.
For a long time, I felt science fiction was going to be the major source of literary experimentation for the foreseeable future. Readers today are cynical creatures; they are smarter and more widespread than any generation before them. Science fiction offers a way for writers to express themselves without being meta--a place for for them to be free and innocent.

I was thinking a lot about careers over the weekend, inspired by a Tracy Morgan line from 30 Rock. He's obviously joking, but I think what he said applies to progression in certain organisations and industries. People in positions of authority are often put under extreme scrutiny. I wonder how my life would hold up under that kind of microscope.
The Day to Day
When I reveal to my colleagues that I am dissatisfied with being an English teacher in Korea, I am often met with surprise. And they do have a point--what's not to like?
it's easy to save money here.
the job is not difficult.
it's an entirely different culture to enjoy and experience.
I was crushed when it turned out that I don't get to go to Peru. It was then that I realised I can't stay here. I'm ready for something new. And not just that, but something challenging too. I'm essentially a glorified babysitter as a teacher. I'm there to make sure that the kids don't accidentally kill themselves or each other.
I have five months remaining on my contract, and as far as I'm concerned, that's five months to get paid while I look for a new job.
Koech Corp
This company, with offices in Lima & Orlando, was offering an entry-level copywriting internship. I did a little reading around the subject, and although the work was generally agreed to be a little dull and repetitive, it sounded like a phenomenal opportunity. Here's the link:

Working in Peru, doing something other than English teaching? Sign me the fuck up.
Just got an email informing me that I didn't make the cut. Guess maybe I'm too old. My ego won't allow me to consider the possibility that I'm not good enough.
