just once, i want my characters to listen to me. like, please. i created you, can’t you just do as you’re told?
me: i’ll just write a short story also me: *accidentally creates a 7-book saga with complex lore*
following some liberal/progressive christian blogs on here is like will i see some profound insight into the nature of God or straight heresy
and then following conservative christian blogs is like will i see something that upholds tradition and is spiritually edifying or will i see someone who thinks women shouldn't have rights
You are one of the most powerful necromancers. Only problem is, people in your country are increasingly opting for cremation when they die, and nobody is being buried in graves anymore.
This probably isn’t where the prompt was going, but I immediately got an idea for a Cinderella retelling wherein the heroine is forced to sift through cremated remains to find enough to raise someone.

heya there! i hope you're doing alright! may i request just prompts with a dynamic featuring a stem and art person? it can be random and doesn't have to be anything specific! you can give scenarios or dialogues and anything you can think of! thank you! sending good ~~ vibes ~~ and good luck your way! 💐💐💐
Hiya Enchant :)
Here are some prompts for you:
College Prompts - STEM X Art Students
A STEM student and an art major fighting over the same book in the library - turns out they have a common interest apart from their studies that makes them become closer.
When the university's financial issues threatens both the funding of the art and the STEM programs, both groups of students first start to work against each other, to make sure that their own program gets the funding. But after some time they see that they work for the same thing, so they start to protest together.
They have nothing really in common with each other. But when they both go to study abroad in the same city, they finally have something in common: they are both in a foreign country, only knowing each other.
A new project requires a STEM student and an arts major to work together. They need some time to figure out how to work best together.
They are both roommates and their different ways of thinking causes some issues, but also makes them a great pair.
Hope you like them! :)

Oooh, loving this dynamic idea!
“adhd paralysis” is not a thing, but things like executive dysfunction is. go talk to a person with actual paralysis for a change instead of stealing their terminology 👍🏻
Right. I always say I’m “frozen” when I describe being hampered by executive dysfunction. That or “stuck.”
You are a supervillain, and everyone was surprised when you declared another supervillain to be your arch nemesis instead of one of the heroes who constantly thwart your plans.
If anyone tries to pull that “Jesus was born sometime in Spring, not December” stuff with you
Remind them that St. Elizabeth conceived St. John the Baptist on Yom Kippur, which is set sometime in late September, early October. When Mary went to visit Elizabeth after first conceiving Jesus, Elizabeth was 6 months pregnant. Doing the math, Elizabeth’s 6 month mark and thus Jesus’ conception mark is in late March, which is 9 months from December. His conception was what was in Spring, Christians have always held conception as the beginning of life and thus Jesus’ conception is noted as the beginning of His life on earth (which is where I assume the confusion comes from), but His birth was still in December.
The Jews believed the beginning of the world was on Nissan 14th on the Jewish calendar. As Jesus was the beginning of the new world, early Christians therefore believed his conception (and thus the feast of the Annunciation) to be on Nissan 14th, which roughly translates to March 25th.
I.e., exactly 9 months before Christmas Day.
the best sidekicks are the ones who could’ve been the main character in another story.

Reading a book: “Ah, yes, brilliant. That totally makes sense. How clever!”
Attempting to write a book: “I am a complete and utter fraud. Who gave me permission to wield words? Someone revoke my keyboard.”
Why is this so true???
writing advice no one asked for: every villain thinks they’re the hero of their own story, except for the really dramatic ones who know they’re evil and are living for it. channel both.
Literally I love going back to things I loved when I was younger, and now having all my vastly improved textual analysis skills and understanding of God to look at them with
At the age of 18 you take a mandatory test. Talking about the test is prohibited. If you score a 95% or above you’re taken away. You just scored the highest in the world.
I've struggled with math since fourth grade, and dang it, this thing was a math test. All math. Completely. No one ever bothered to even hint at that. Yeah, thanks for nothing. I finally got so frustrated and riddled with anxiety, I snapped on the last word problem, like "Screw it." I Xed out my whole bubble sheet and just wrote, "Purple, because aliens don't wear hats!"
BOOM. Next thing I know, a bright pink and green light practically blinds me. A helicopter lands right in front of my test proctor's classroom and these four people who look straight out of Central Casting for Men in Black IV scooped me into said helicopter. I lost consciousness and when I woke up, I was in a gargantuan room that smelled of lemon, leather, and parchment. Secret Service Wannabe #1 bows to me and says, "Welcome to the Scribner Realm, Your Majesty. You just became our new queen." Wild, right? And before I can even think of trying to recover from that, SSW #2 hands me an onyx sword thingy with a jeweled quill-like apparatus where the blade should be and says, "We'll need to begin your training right away. Negotiations with the Numerati have broken down and you may well have to lead us into war."
All the realms have been united. And now, we need someone to lead us. The people have decided...Your Majesty.
A lot of people have said a lot of things about Once Upon a Time's tangled, messy writing, unhinged family tree, and clumsy redemption arcs. And as much as I love the show, I agree with every one of them.
But this. The "getting there" aside (because that has to be solid, too of course)--once you "get there," this is what I want. I am a sucker for stories where even villains get a happily ever after. I don't always do this myself; it's not true to life and some villains of mine have done things that are just too despicable for readers to buy HEA for them, for it to work in their universe. But I currently have at least one villain for whom I imagine something like this. He's not royalty or anything, and in his universe, it may well be "too late" for him to do the good he should, or wants. Still, just to hear someone say, "You have good in you and we see it. THIS is who you are, not that man." YES. That's what makes the arc for me.

Can My Disabled Writer Friends Help?
Hi everyone, I would usually private message a writer's group, but I don't seem to get replies from those (maybe they're too backlogged)? So I'm reaching out for general help. If you visit my blog, you might notice two of my original characters (OCs) pop up a lot. Their names are Finola and Carlotta (no relation, but besties, from a duology). Finola is (was) the legally blind, wordsmith hacker; Carlotta is (was) the mobility aid user, gifted singer, and songstress. Their universe was speculative in my first draft; they lived in a split version of the U.S. where one half of the country accepted disabilities and the others basically just treated disabled people like work camp fodder. But that wasn't working for me, for so many reasons. Chief reason being, even if these girls were revolutionaries who fought their country's mindset, they still lived in that environment, and that still communicated in some way, "Disabled people don't belong." So what I'm doing now is, Carlotta and Finola live in a speculative *fantasy* universe, where the focus is on magi-tech. I now want the focus to be, they're disabled, but they aren't the villains' targets because of it. Disabled people can still live peaceably, but F and C are targets because they are "twice-exceptional." They are disabled, plus gifted in both tech and magic in a world that makes you choose one or the other. What this leads to is: I want these girls to be disabled, or obviously "coded" as such. But I don't think it's gonna work to give them disabilities that would exist IRL like blindness or mobility aid use, at least not the kind tied to medical diagnoses (because then I start asking myself, what about sickle cell? Down Syndrome? Fragile X? High support autism? All these disabilities I have no business writing about because I am disabled, but those aren't my experiences). I'm leaning toward Finola and Carlotta having some kind of "glitch in their gifts" that means, they still express magical ability, but in a "disabled" fashion. Something that, under bad circumstances, causes symptoms like pain or illness or memory issues. They would have the same "disability," but different "symptoms." And, I'm thinking one or both is neurodivergent, whether because of gifts, disability, or both. My question: How would you handle this? How would you "frame" this disability in your head? How would you "explain" it to a reader? Some hints (what I know for sure): -F and C are orphans (they have a mild version of this disorder; whatever it is, it killed their families and many others) -This is something only girls get (the villains go after gifted girls; I'm going for kind of a Handmaid's Tale meets Moses meets Esther vibe) -Finola and Carlotta do NOT want to be cured. In fact, the villains are bad guys because they experiment on them/try to force cure. Any and all help appreciated! And if you've got questions, please ask, either here or in my DMs. All the best, -Ruby
This fanart is so creative. I love the stained glass window approach!
“'Look To The Western Sky'
For this piece, I explored something new by creating everything in a stained glass style.
I framed it with my storytelling border to guide you through the journey of Elphaba, Glinda, Fiyero, Boq and the Lion. For those familiar with The Wizard of Oz, you might notice a few hints about these characters.
This piece took 20 consecutive hours.”
