Felix had been doing just about everything he could to avoid the somber subject of Harry Potter and Ronald Weasley being in the clutches of some mysterious, evil forces. It seemed to put a damper on the entire school. Even his house, known for their courageousness in the face of danger, seemed to be crumbling. So, out of everything Felix could do, he knew there was only one thing to distract people; pranks. Maybe not the most appropriately timed solution, but definitely one that could make people laugh or at least distract them for a moment. He mustered together his wand, a stack of books and paper, and a few other miscellaneous supplies from the library table he sat at before rushing off to the Gryffindor common room. Well, rushing until he heard the weakened sobs of a fellow student. He froze, not daring to take another step around the corner where the sounds were coming from. No, no, no. An abrupt shock, perhaps he hadn’t fully registered the seriousness of the situation. Outside his house’s common room? He felt panicked. He peered around the corner very quickly and carefully, feeling absolutely sick as he turned back behind the corner. His own quidditch team-mate, Rose. Even when she had broken her arm in a 4th year quidditch match, she hadn’t cried. He had been half convinced that she simply couldn’t after that incident. She was like steel, cold and tough. Until now… He had to think quick. Grabbing a piece of paper, Felix sunk down against the wall he stood against, folding here and there before grabbing his wand. His heart felt like it was stuck firmly in his throat as he muttered something under his breath, and off his creation went. A small, paper lion sauntered it’s way across the hall before planting itself firmly in front of Rose. It gave a quiet roar, seeming pleased with itself. Inside the magical note, he had scribbled a quick message. I’m sorry, I hope you feel better soon. Was all he could think to scrawl out.
the little things made life worth living. or at least her mum said that whenever she saw rose upset. there was no one here to say that to her. rose weasley had friends, she had friends everywhere, even the ones she didn’t think about often. the little lion that made it’s way in front of her made her crying stop as she stared at it. the little roar had her reaching out to pick it up. once she read the note she looked around for the sender of it. despite the tears that still stubbornly rolled down her cheeks, a small smile was on her face.
her bag was settled beside her & she reached into it to take out her own piece of paper. she folded a nice swan, a message scribbled inside that said thank you. hoping that whoever sent her the strange present would at least step out from the shadows. this was busying her, keeping her from dwelling on the matters at hand.
