hello! sorry ive been gone for a millennium, i needed a break from tumblr and also over the past couple months have had some life issues that are proving incredibly stressful rn so for anyone with a little bit of time/money to spare ill ask u generously to consider helping me out. i really dont like asking for money or anything but im at my wits end tbh

so for those of u who don’t know im ruby I’m studying at brighton uni in the UK in my first year.

TL;DR my dad passed away recently (about two months ago) which has caused my mother and i to have money issues that could potentially render us both homeless and end up with me dropping out of university.

my father passed extremely suddenly from heart failure that nobody saw coming and it really affected me. i had even called him two days earlier to organise him coming to see me and everything was fine. he was my rock and the very sudden loss alongside already suffering badly from depression and mental illness made me incredibly low to the point where i didn’t leave my house for three weeks. my girlfriend broke up with me three days after his funeral, which she’s within her rights to do ofc but the timing was awful and has just made my depression/isolation even worse

i had to spend a lot of my own money to travel to his old house and sort through all his things, and also because he can no longer provide my mother or i with money (which he used to) i had to pay hundreds in rent arrears for my mother in order to stop bailiffs coming round and repossessing our home. my mother is an alcoholic and i often have to lend her money even when i have very little myself. if this happens again i will have no money to help her out and we will lose our home of 13 years with nowhere to go as she does not work or get enough sustainable income

finally, i have one last month of rent to pay on my current uni house on August 14th for £540 and a deposit required by September for £500 to move into a new house for my second year of uni. if i cant pay my deposit then i won’t be able to find a home for uni and will probably end up dropping out, which i really don’t want to do as my father was the one who really helped me push to get into uni and dropping out would break me at this point

i cant get a job to help myself out rn because my dad’s passing affected me submitting work and therefore im still to submit 3 essays after extending my deadlines due to mitigating circumstances ;; my depression makes it bad enough to deal with working on these essays let alone trying to start a whole new job at the same time.

im really at my wits end and would appreciate ANY sort of help, even if it’s pocket change because i literally have £0 in my account after rent went out.
