My favorite movie ever is Little women. Everyone talks about about Jo, Laurie, Amy, but what about Beth? This movie makes me cry every time I have to watch Beth bond with the grieving father next door, knowing he sees his deceased daughter in her. He had to grieve twice. Beth died because she was kind and selfless. Thats why the scene of Amy crying in Laurie’s embrace when she says “Beth was the best of us.”, is so gut-wrenching. She was the one to visit/feed their sick and poor neighbors because her sisters didn’t want to. Her death was so devastating because her presence was so much smaller than her absence. I think Little women had such an accurate representation of grief and loss. When I first watched the movie, I was convinced she’d just get better, which is exactly why it’s such an accurate depiction of what abruptly losing a loved one is like.
