“Hey. I found them.” Sam interrupts, having gone ahead while you rescued Dean.

“What we up against, Sammy?”

“Five vamps. The first victim’s been turned. Reckon the other’s were her meal. Three of them are in this main alcove that’s just round the next corner. The other two walked off in the other direction.”

“Alright. Stay close, backs to one another. Space is gonna be limited, so make your swings count.” You and Sam nod at Dean’s words, before Dean strides ahead.

“Hey Twilight! Love what you’ve done with the place!” You roll your eyes at Dean’s baiting, quickly stepping up behind him and turning to face the path you just came from. You can hear Sam next to you, blade held down by his side as one of the vamps stares him down.

“Winchesters. And the Winchester’s little pet.”

“Seriously? OK, for that, your head is mine.” You bite back, turning your head slightly so you can eyeball the little shit.

Time stops. No-one makes a move. The only sound is the breathing of those still alive. You can just make out one vamp out of the corner of your eye. You blink, and it’s like the spell has stopped. With a yell, all three vamps pounce. You feel Dean lean back, and take a small step forward so he’s got space to move back and bring his arm up. The slight squish sound tells you Dean’s hit his target spot on. To your side you hear Sam fighting with the other two, yells and screams being all you have to use to work out who’s winning.

“Y/N! Me and Sam are going for the other two. You got this?”

Breaking formation, you turn and stare at the last vamp standing, satisfaction crossing your face as you realize it’s the one who called you a pet.

“Oh yeah. I definitely got this.” Smirking, you barely notice the Winchesters leaving, so focused on the monster in front of you. “I’m gonna enjoy this.”

“How will you enjoy it, when you’ll be dead?”

“Brave little vampire. Bring it on, bitch.”

Five minutes later, and you’re running to find Sam and Dean. You had to hand it to the now dead vampire, he’d put up a good fight. But your fight was better....

Hearing sounds from up ahead, you slow down and control your breathing. Peering round the corner, you see Sam out for the count, and Dean pinned up against the wall, held there by-

“Is that a trident?!” You ask incredulously as you stride into the centre of the room.

“Alara, you told me it was just the Winchester hunters here.” The male vamp pipes up, putting a bit more force into metal going through Dean’s shoulder.

“Yeah, I’m not as in your face as them two. But I like it. Makes me a bit of a secret weapon. You haven’t answered me though. Is that an actual, honest-to-god trident?!”

“It is. Amazing the things humans leave behind.”

“Hmmm. So, what does this make you? Aquaman? Because surely, as a vampire, you should be Batman.”

“What are you talking about?” Alara snarls at you.

“Justice League of America? Or are you more Avengers? Marvel over DC? Hey, each to their own. But I gotta say, this is perfect.”

“Why?”

“Because do you know who I wanted to be growing up? Wonder Woman. Now let my friend go.”

“Make me.”

“Oh, you really shouldn’t have said that.”

“Y/N?”

“Yeah, Sam?”

“Wonder Woman’s got nothing on you.”

Leaning back against the leather of Baby’s backseat, Dean’s head resting in your lap as you hold a towel to the worst of the bleeding, you can’t help but smile in agreement. You’d taken both vamps out with just a cut to the hand for your troubles, and that had come from pulling the trident out of Dean. Thankfully, Sam had woken up by then, so you’d had help carrying Dean back to where he’d parked up the impala earlier. Y/N Y/L/N. Superhero hunter. Had a ring to it, that was for certain...
