âThis is the first time Iâve been to this bar, not sure I think Iâm coming back honestly,â she said turning up her nose and attempting to find a bartender, who were all huddled around a group of sorority girls at the end of the bar. âI feel bad for the girl heâs trying to hit on now.â
âI used to come to this spot but I think itâs changed owners since last time. You leave town for a few years and suddenly itâs like a whole new world.â Her eyes scanned the room, trying to remember the old decor, but it was as unrecognizable as everything else in her world. âI feel bad for every girl in this place. Truly a sausage fest. And whatâs with the age range? Young girls and old, old men? Who are they targeting?âÂ
asher-v:
Asher had watched the previous exchange and before he could even step in, the girl had it handled and he was intrigued. He walked over to her, and before he could even get a word out she was nearly biting his head off and he couldnât help but laugh. âYou donât need to apologize, I saw him. You sent him running for the hills.â He said smiling at her as he got into the seat beside her, âI was actually coming over to ask if I could buy you a drink?â
âI donât think I sent him anywhere. Another pair of tits just snagged his attention. How typical,â she mumbled, dragging a hand through her hair. âI forgot how bold Americans are, but better her than me, I suppose.â Finishing off her drink with a loud sip through her straw, she pushed the glass away and drummed her fingers against the bar. âYou can buy me anything you want, but I can guarantee it wonât get you laid.âÂ
griffinadley:
Griffinâs day had been consistently filled negativity, his coworkers were beginning to question his authority and called for all day meetings which he had just gotten out of. He almost beelined it for the bar the moment his was free. He sat behind a half empty glass, his eyes trained before him when he heard an all too familiar accept pierce through his ears. His heart almost broke all over again when he came to the realization of who it was. He lifted his head, almost daring not to look before raising his eyebrows at the girl. âNothing at all. Carry on.â
Roxie looked at the man but didnât really see him. An apologetic smile pulled at her lips but her eyes stared past him. Through him. Just another in the sea of faces sheâd been floating through all day... Until she heard his voice--a voice that snapped everything into focus and took her straight back to the last time she heard it. âWhat are you doing here?â she said by way of greeting, her knuckles turning white from her grip on her glass--the drink suddenly not seeming nearly strong enough. Â
âi thought maybe i can handle it by now. losing you. i donât know, i thought it would be easier. itâs just that - i look at you and i think: god, i wish you would let yourself love me. please, i have never wanted something so bad. i think: iâll never ask for anything else. because if i have this, i will want for nothing. itâs probably a lie, but it doesnât feel that way. everything about you feels so real to me. okay, so maybe thatâs a lie too. i want to say iâm sorry. i donât know what for but it seems like the right thing to say. iâm sorry for letting you believe that i can do this. iâm sorry for all the things i couldnât do for you. iâm sorry for thinking that you could be different and for wishing that you are. iâm sorry for how this was all handled. and iâm sorry - for all the happiness that we couldâve had.â

âFor the last time, no. I have never actually used the phrase âello govâna,ââ Roxie nearly growled, smacking a hand against the bar top as she glared up at the man who had been pestering her ever since he caught wind of her accent. Except this time it wasnât him. Mr. Fedora had moved onto his next victim, already leering down the poor girlâs top. âOh gosh, Iâm sorry. Some guy was pestering me before... Did you need something?âÂ
âWho knew New York could get louder. Swear to god this place hasnât changed.â Noah grumbled, more to himself than anyone around him as he sipped his coffee, his eyes scanning his surroundings.Â
âI blame the people in the mascot costumes. I mean, honestly, if another Olaf harasses me for a five dollar picture, Iâll lose it. Thatâs what all the noise is. People getting in fights with headless Mickeys and one-eyed Doras. Itâs honestly embarrassing that I still spend any time in Times Square.âÂ

âBrody, wait!âJake called after the large dog as it bounded up to the person across the park, nearly knocking them over. Once he finally had the leash in his hand again, he quickly began apologizing. âI am so sorry for him..He usually isnât like this.â
Despite the ownerâs stupidity, Roxie couldnât hold the dog responsible and got down on one knee to scratch behind his floppy ears. The slobber wasnât ideal, now clinging to the front of her top, but she supposed she needed to send out her laundry soon anyway. âYou know, if he bit someone, thatâd be a major lawsuit,â she noted, holding one hand up to the sun to get a better look at the stranger. âYouâre lucky heâs cute,â turning her attention back to the dog, she scrunched up her nose. âYes he is! Yes, heâs so cute.â

Roxie Sinclairâs upbringing was far from ideal. Between her drug addict mother who couldnât hold a job, her impressionable younger brother, and the endless company of sleazy men who rotated into and promptly out of their lives, it always felt like the weight of her family rested entirely on her shoulders. Ensuring that the bills were being paid nearly on time and that they all had enough food to survive was a task no adolescent shouldâve been burdened with. It hardly came as a surprise when she started dabbling in illicit substances herself. The natural progression of falling into the wrong crowd quickly followed, as did her dramatic downward spiral. But when it seemed she had finally hit rock bottom, there was a glimmer of hope in the form of a talent scout. He could see Roxieâs potential, from her brilliant scarlet hair and smattering of freckles to her slender figure and sharp jaw, he knew the girl could go places, and that she did. While she certainly didnât have the best personality, she had the features that gained her international recognition within the fashion world. Fame, unfortunately, did little in the way of changing anything but Roxieâs social status. Look at her the wrong way and youâll still end up bearing the brunt of her sharp tongue and biting words.
