Bob shrugs. “Sure, why not!” He smile as he pulls out his phone to check his calendar. “I’ve got nothing planned today. Wanna go now?”

"OH, HELL YESSS!!" She answers, grabbing her own phone to check the movie's schedule. "We can go to this one, it will be plenty of time to get there and buy some snacks before"

“Hummm… usually I just eat after checking out the stores, but we could grab some ice cream. Whatcha think?” Rowan says after taking a moment to think. He starts walking alongside Bob, looking around at the people and things, just enjoying the moment with his friend.

“Ice cream sounds lovely right now. It’s way too hot,” Bob walks up to the nearest vendor and orders himself some chocolate ice cream and steps back to allow Rowan to order his. “Depending on your choice, I’ll either respect you or laugh at you” he jokes

Rowan agrees with the “way too hot” part, walking beside the other one and raising an eyebrow at his comment. “You’re the one asking for chocolate ice cream, so you’re the one getting laughed at,” he teases, ordering a strawberry ice cream with some chocolate flakes.

“Chocolate ice cream is amazing and I won’t tolerate slander” he says with a smile, gently shoving Rowan. “You’re the weirdo who orders strawberry. Well, at least it’s not mint chocolate chip”

“Amazing?? It doesn’t even TASTE like chocolate!!!” he answers, laughing and shoving his friend back. “And I am a proud weirdo, alright? But not because I love strawberry—it’s an awesome flavor.” Rowan adds with three head shakes, as if reassuring his point.

“Proud weirdo,” Bob repeats with a chuckle. “That seems to describe the both of us… and the majority of my friends.” He bumps shoulders with Rowan and starts walking to a nearby table.

“Well, you’ve got some good friends then,” Rowan says, giggling as he follows Bob to the table. “How about this one?” He points to a spot near the window, where they can see the city below.

“Yeah this one is perfect,” Bob plops down in a chair and pushes the other one out for Rowan to sit. “So what’s new with you? I like the new look”

Rowan sinks comfortably into the other chair, turning into some kind of jello on top of it while he sips his ice cream. “Oh, well, nothing much, you know… And this— I was going through a gender crisis, feeling weird in my own body, so I changed to this. I like it too, thank you.” A soft smile curls on his lips. “And you? Anything new? That girl you had a crush on—how’s that going?”

“It’s going well,” Bob smiles at the mention of Yelena. “We’ve been dating for a few weeks now. I think it’s going really well” he takes a spoonful of ice cream. “Hey so I’ve had a question about your powers. Can I ask it?”

“That’s awesome, dude!! YAAY, I love romance—it’s just so cute!! We should totally double date! Well… when I find someone to date me,” Rowan blurts out, practically bouncing with excitement over his friend’s news and laughing at his comment about finding a date. For him, that idea was pretty much off the table these days. “Yeah, yeah, ask me anything! Hit me!”
